I've been out of the hobby for way too long and I have a few questions:

how long is this 9th age beta rule going to stay? I hardly ever play but it appears everytime I want to play a game, a new version of the rule is released.

I still have my lizardmen army left which is on square bases, I consider changing them to round, but thought I will give 9th age a go first.

is saurus ancient any good in 9th age?

can someone give me a good example list for saurus ancient?

Many thanks

Hugo should know when the next update will be, but I would imagine it wouldn't be until after the ETC in August.

Every army in T9A is fine. Remember when we used to have comp scores because army books were so unbalanced? That is long gone.

As for a sample list, I couldn't say. However if you have some Magic, a fighty guy, some Saurus and whatever else, you'll be fine.

Most things work, some obviously better than others, but it is hard to go wrong with some common sense when writing up an army list.

The Ninth Age forums are your go-to place for lists.

Gold edition is due out by the end of the year post ETC ( stable ruleset for next 2-3 years at least)

Otherwise like the others have said mate, 9th age forums are your go to place.

I'll give this a bump - How have people found T9A in their local friendlies WFB scene? Many followers/players?

I've not played WFB in years, glancing at the rules makes it tempting to try to drag some others into trying it... Whilst understandable the whole "renaming everything/making it our own fluff" is a bit of a turnoff, as is the heights system. But then again I never played WFB or 40k in pre-TLOS editions.

I suppose at the end of the day a player can just use it for WFB and completely ignore all the original stuff they've come up with. (for those who have pure WFB armies and won't be expanding them ever again)

The game is great. After playing probably close to 2 games a week for over a year now, I am still not even close to bored.

Round here (Sydney to Newcastle) there is a large number of players. I know there is a good chunk in Melbourne and Brisbane too, along with some in WA.

Don't think of it as 'warhammer with a different name'. It is past that now. T9A is its own thing.

Costs you nothing but time to give it a go.
