I'll be posting comp scores later in the week - actually have to add a couple of last-minute lists (who were late with good excuses).

That out of 40?

Looks like things are hardening up again.... oh well.

22/40 = 4.4/8 about right where I was aiming. Sweet!

Im hoping that it's out of 30 as per the player pack.

If so then things are really softening up, which is good, cause I can drink more!

Can I get an idea exactly how the comp was scored - I got nothing like what I expected.

Oh, and for the viewers, no, I'm not complaining. Its about double what I expected.

Actually, player pack says...

Composition (Panel judged, 40 maximum, 20%)

So, it's out of 40.

As to the process...each of the panel of judges gave a score out of 10, rating power of the list in general, and considering the missions. We then went through all of the lists, and compared the individual judge scores. Any score that was out by more than 2 from the others caused the list to be re-examined in group, and the judges given the option of adjusting their scores.

Exactly the same as last year, and the same as the last few comped Quarter Masters, as I understand it.

Awesome explanation Yogo, thanks smile.gif

EDIT: Oh, and a great way to do comp. I like the re-assessment of lists if they are out of whack.

Nice to see comp up before a tournament. Congrats on having a go at trying to comp 6th. This tournament will be a great information provider in so many areas.

And note that the judge changing his score is optional - if the judge strongly feels differently to the rest of the group, his score stands. There are generally a few lists where this is the case.

The big thing to remember guys is that it is a new edition and we will have teething problems but with the data ill get off mick on individuals battle results cross referenced with their comp scpre will give us a better insight into comp for the next one.

also i will be looking at the players and match ups of lists much like the ATC where some lists that are even in comp scores, may have a distinct advantage over a particular list e.g all foot with heavy weapons beating a all mech msu army due to the fire power ratio of the mech not being able to get to the heavy weapons before they kill out the mech etc etc.

But this is a slow process but in the future it will be worth it to see some different combos being able to be played instead of the copy paste atmosphere of no comped events where there is a large grouping of similar style lists out of the top 4 codexs only being used.

But constructive feed back is always welcome if anyone feels diffeeently about their scores.

Sounds like a plan, Josh. I would be happy to help you with it, if you want.

TBH, when we signed up for Orcfest, most of us were well aware there was a chance we may get a strange comp score. Heck, I was just interested to see what mine would be in 6th at the start and I will probably play the list here and there to see how it changes. It still hasn't lessened the interest in orcfest as can be seen by the attendance numbers.

Just wondering if when comp was done if the secondary objective like first blood had any effect on scores?

I know when I wrote my list I made sure my list could perform well for all three?

I got the 3/8 I thought I would get. It will be interesting after a few tourneys to see if there is a shift in scores.

Is there a reason why peoples allies detachment wasn't listed just there primary? Or did no one take allies?

I extracted the primary codex from the Army Builder files I created for validation, just for information. Never even occurred to me to look for allies - and there are plenty of allied detachments.

Think 23 is a bit too harsh on my list, thought it more a 7-8/10 then 5-6/10.

Ha Ha, I have no idea about my comp, good or bad but if I can ally BT's with a few IA units thrown in and get a 15 then things are looking up for me biggrin.gif

Looking forward to it and at the end of the day gotta start somewhere armata_PDT_37.gif
