Idea for a 2 day tournament, Feedback wanted - will it work? Options

I was after some feedback on the following for a 2 day tourney. This is just a concept and was wondering if it would work.

Each player has 2 X 1250 point armies each following the standard force organisation chart. These armies are fixed and units cannot be swapped. Each player effectively has 2 armies of the same point value.

Day 1 – 3 games X 1250 points – players can choose which army selection at time of learning mission and deployment.

Day 2 – 2 games X 2500 points (both 1250 point armies combined to make one force).

Sounds interesting - only confusing issue I see if force org etc - if both the 1250 are legal armies will that make the 2500 legal (i.e still 2HQ, 3 elite, 6 troops etc) Will they need to be built so the 2500 is still legal at same time as 1250s are legal ?) i.e if I take four troops in one 1250 does that mean I am limited to 2 in other to ensure only 6 in 2500 ?

This comes down to list building and is not insurmountable but may need a little more time for lists to be reviewed for legality.

i would deffinately be interested in this as i mentioned.

i think that the 2nd day the forces combine as two forces working together so that you effectively get twice the number of slots for legality purposes.

Good point about 2 legal 1250 point list does not equal a legal 2500 point list.

Would probably have to build it in so that each 1250 point list is legal and combined 2500 points still make a legal list. Will give this some more thought and discussion.

I am just thinking ahead for Northern Heresy which I would like to make a 2 day event so that would be in July.

Just tossing around a few ideas. I seem to come up with ideas, just not all of them good, so thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming.
