Tournaments in FNQ, Do they exist? Options

Hey all, long time lurker, first time poster here.

I was just wondering if there are any sorts of 40k or fantasy tournaments held anywhere near sunny old Cairns? The reason being, I've recently decided to play again after a long hiatus and would like to play some competitive games again, and expand my social network for a bit of fun on the weekends.

Apologies in advance if there is a large, bold, post somewhere saying there is, but I have not seen one anywhere.

Probably found out already, dont know about cairns,
theres one just gone in rocky
one this weekend in mackay
and norcon in townsville queens birthday, it hasn't been held for the last few years tho

There is a Cairns wargames club and forum

There has been a tournament run in Cairns for the last 2 years, last year just 40K, this year both fantasy and 40K, couldn't tell you what time of the year it will run next year, but there should be one.
The club meets at Machan's Beach Community Hall every Saturday except the first of each month.
They are always looking for new people and would be glad to see you there.
