The Battlestar Galactica - 33 Campaign is a series of massive events inspired by “33” - the first episode of the first season of the Reimagined series to be held at all major shows the company attends during 2019 - UK Game Expo, Origins, Gencon, Essen, and Pax Unplugged, (as well as other events worldwide). The flow of the campaign can be followed in a dedicated page, now online at https://www.aresgames.eu/games/battlestar-galactica-starship-battles-line/33-campaign
The Battlestar Galactica and the rest of the Colonial fleet are relentlessly pursued by Cylons. Thirty-three minutes after each Faster-than-light jump, the Cylons arrive again, trying to exterminate what’s left of Mankind. Each event will be one of our “jumps” – the Colonial fleet is jumping from one event to the next, and the battle continues, involving hundreds of BSG fans around the world.
The outcome of each event will influence the flow of the campaign. Based on the number of participants and damage inflicted to enemy starships during the battle, the running total of the human and material losses will grow, and the balance of the war can flip in favor of the Cylons or the Colonials. When, at the end of the year, the Colonial Fleet will be ready to jump to safety, will there be enough of Humankind left to avoid extinction? To follow the balance of the war, check the 33 Campaign page!
The Wintercon scenario is Australia's contribution to the worldwide event, set in an asteroid field where a tanker detachment has been sent to gather fuel - and divert some of the Cylon fleet.
All models will be provided, though players are welcome to bring their own. System is Ares Games new and award winning Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles game, where each player controls a Viper fighter or Cylon raider. Movement rules fit on one half page, firing the other half, so while not as easy to pick up as Wings of Glory WWI air combat, it is easy for absolute beginners to learn quickly.
