OK, so shoot me. I've been trawling the interwebz having a look at terrain. (no shock there I guess)
What game would use 14th-16th century Japanese style terrain/buildings? Malifaux? All of the above BUT if you were making it for Infinity, you NEED at least 2-3 times the amount of terrain that you would generally make for 40k.
Pretty much any skirmish level game could use a Asian style table. Please make one and help inspire me to get off my butt and make mine! Diary please??? |

Infinity does need terrain about every 8 in inches maybe half blocking.
I don't see a problem with Peach trees or rock spires making up the difference. Also those arch things will be totally useless but look amazing. Feel free to bung up links I did not get further than my old thread, need someone who reads Chinese I think. Japanese have nice arches but Chinese buildings look nicer...and Tibetan ones are big and are plausible bunkers, too. Anything Asian will look mad with Malifaux releasing a whole book of Ten Thunders crews lead by Misaki. If we don't find a good alternative I will order those Chinese ones at 20 euro each so we have a reference.

Anything Asian will look mad with Malifaux releasing a whole book of Ten Thunders crews lead by Misaki. Think bigger. Kirai's a gardener; get a whole Japanese garden with Koi ponds, those silly arches, trees, hedges etc going. And then match her crew to it. -------------------- Mate I'll pay MONEY to sit there and watch Jose get Whupped..Never seen someone lose which such style! John Jenkins Designs has some lovely Japanese 17-18c buildings but Oshiro Modelterrain is much, much better.
As you would expect neither are cheap to buy. http://www.johnjenkinsdesigns.com/28JAP.htm http://www.oshiromodelterrain.co.uk/catalogue28.html -------------------- If it's a miracle, Colour Sergeant, it's a point four-five caliber, short-chamber, boxer-primed miracle."

Changing the topic slightly - does the Pig have any Egyptian themed table(s)? Not as far as I know? We do have a Saur-type table with a step pyramid, spawning ponds and palm trees. Why? -------------------- See our new LAZOR!!!! cut scenery webstore at http://www.bplaser.com The Blind Pig Usually the First and Third Saturday of each month. My first degree was in japanese and I lived there (in Nara) for six months as an exchange student in high school. Having a Japanese table would be cool. And I guess I'd only need one of each building.......... -------------------- See our new LAZOR!!!! cut scenery webstore at http://www.bplaser.com The Blind Pig Usually the First and Third Saturday of each month. And I guess I'd only need one of each building.......... Walls, lots of walls and cannon would be good too........ So, Willy you have enough IG models to do an Alamo themed game on a Shogun table? Impressionable teenager living in Japan? Well that explains the Tanto. How keen are you, Bec?
I will order a set of Japanese gear for you when I know where I am working next. I was leaning towards the Chinese Balsa buildings as they can be done all futuristic with clean whites. Happy with either really, will find some good blossoming peach trees. Being a luddite I thought the Chinese buildings looked more Japanese at first -------------------- Adventures in Army Painter Soft Tone:

Thinking of Wargods of Aegyptus, which I'd like to give a run at the club. We have tried that. Even had the guys from Warpuppy come out and demo for a few weeks. It didn't take off. I was leaning towards the Chinese Balsa buildings as they can be done all futuristic with clean whites. What? I was thinking of making a table with 16C Japanese resin buildings, enclosed temple and samurai buildings, gardens, village and perhaps a few rice paddies and suzuki. [edit] Oh, and peach trees are native to northern India and Pakistan (I have walked through a forrest of native peaches there) and Japan is well known for cherry blossoms, they even hold a festival each year to do just that.
