After winning the battle for Buckmann Hulls research station the ork raided the nearby human settlements, taking slaves and searching for food and drinks. But at the barren dirt next to the research station lay the body of Warboss Blackmaine. Doc Tutu Sizzorhand was the first ork to examine their dead leader. Closely watched by the Blood Axe clan the doc opened Blackmaines scattered mega armor. The doc immediately located the medi squig and removed it from Blackmaines armor. Doc Sizzorhand gently placed the medi squig in his bag, when he suddenly felt the powerful grip from Blackmaines left hand around his ankle. Something inside Blackmaine still lived. Doc Sizzorhand immediately injected the medi squig into Blackmains green bloodstream.

Blackmaines left hand twitched and released its grip from the docs ankle. “He lives, Blackmaine lives” shouted the doc, waving the spend medi squig above his head as a token of his own success. The Blood Axes cheered and within seconds the severely wounded Blackmaine was brought to the nearest spacecraft and taken up into the space hulk. Doc Sizzorhand stayed with Blackmaine and placed him in a stasis field, while attempting to save Blackmaines green hide. This was not easy, the squats had done well with Blackmaine.

Meanwhile on the ground around the research station a Bad Moon warboss tried to get the boyz together, to go on a waargh rampage attack. “Gather ALL da boyz and get ready to move, you useless gits” the Bad Moon warboss shouted. But the Blood Axe clan refused to attack as long as Blackmaine was still alive. “Traitors, humie lovers, useless scum” cried the Bad Moon warboss, but warboss Zorgar Clawfinga could not get the Blood Axes going. Only a few Blood Axe trukk drivers joined him. Zorgar knew, that he needed the entire Blood Axe clan in order to defeat the humans.

But the fat dwarfs was another story. They were fleeing towards their Hammerships, as fast as their small legs could carry them. “Mount up – buggies, battlewagons and trucks” shouted Zorgar. “We will hit da stunties in their backs” ordered Zorgar, as the ork army turned its attention away from the humans and south towards the squats landing site.


The squat army retreated from the research station and back to the landing site. Pirate units cowered the army´s disciplined retreat halting the orks main advance again and again. Even with Baldur Hammerfist dead the squats iron discipline did not falter. But the squat expeditionary force was leaderless and unable to escape past the space hulk. If the five hammerships took off only one or two would make it home to safety. The squats had to wait until an opportunity presented it self, where they could slip past the ork space hulk. Back in the relatively safety of the landing site the squats reported the dire situation to the High Counsel of Stynx. A swift decision was made. One of the counsel leaders sons would take a cloaked squat shuttle and join the expeditionary force.

Stölz Roarkilde gathered his best warriors around him. Once in the shuttle Stölz revealed their mission. Access the landing site, fend off the orks, create a diversion and slip away with the 5 Hammerships intact. Leave the humans to the orks. Stölz hated that order. But his father sat in the High Counsel of Stynx, and Stölz knew that squat warriors follow orders. No matter what.

The wierdboyz in the space hulk never saw the cloaked shuttle coming. And Stölz landed among the Hammerships without problems. He was immediately approached by the commanding officer. “An ork army sir. Moving fast towards our position. What are your orders sir” asked the commanding officer.

“prepare our ships for departure, I will march upon the orks and stop them” answered Stölz proudly. His heart guards checked their weapons once more as they entered the Rhino. Stölz trike roared as he turned the handle and the squat army left the landing site heading for Rock Canyon where they would stop the orks….At all costs.

The squat commander Stölz Roarkilde hasted his army towards Rock Canyon. His pirates had gathered valuable intel regarding the area between the Research Station and the squat landing site. Stölz knew exactly where he would halt the ork advance. He would stand his ground where the canyon was most narrow. The squats arrived just in time.

The massive ork army raced fanatically towards the squat landing site, but Stölz had enough time to prepare his army for battle. He ordered the pirates to advance ahead of the army and take position in the old trenches found in Rock Canyon. The pirates were to hold their ground and tie up the orks. Then Stölz would destroy the ork army with the rest of his force. The general order was given “engage and destroy the orks at all costs, do not let a single one of the slip by”. The squats cheered and mounted their transports. Two armored and upgraded predators advanced towards the frontline, and the warriors prepared their lasguns.


Stölz turned towards the old ancestor lord by his side. This mighty squats was old as time it self. “What does your wisdom tell you” asked Stölz the old squat. With a deep growling voice ancestor lord Eske Whitehand guided the squat commander. Stölz thought about the situation for short while. Then he ordered “deploy Gerd Oreson and his exos in the Termite. They must surface behind ork lines and take out the orks artillery”. A wise choice mumbled the ancestor lord.

“Warlord Stölz, the hero from the battle at Buckman Hulls research station has asked to join our ranks” asked a squat officer. “It is Ovur Ironbender, the engineer who singlehandedly took out a battlewagon and an ork big boss” explained the officer. “accepted, have him deploy in the center, he can keep an eye on our tanks” answered Stölz, and then ordered the entire squat army into position.

Warboss Clawfinga had no grand plan up his sleeve. He simply ordered his orks forward. Clawfinga would throw all his boyz into Rock Canyon and run over the squats. If Clawfinga won a major victory here he would be able to keep driving, straight into the squats landing site. All he ad to do was to utterly crush the squats, that had taken up positions in the narrow Rock Canyon.

In his binoculars Clawfinga saw a large rock, sitting in the middle of rock canyon. If he could take that rock, and the surrounding area, then he could deploy his mega blasters on top of the rock and kill off any squats, who dared to stand in his way. We must take that rock. And hold it, Clawfinga said to himself. And then the bikes and trucks roared forward.

Deployment. Orks.

This game was played with 2500 points armies and secret missions. There was no secondary mission this time. Two strategy cards were dealt pr. side. Rock canyon is infested with wild ambulls, just like the rest of the planet. In the beginning of each sides turn, we rolled a dice, on a roll of 6 a wild ambull would appear from the ground in a random position, charging the closest model.

The squats strategy rating was upped to 4 due to the ancestor lord. The orks had to settle with their strategy rating of 3. The squats won the initiative and got to choose deployment zone.

The orks began this game with: Strafing Run, Malfunction, Da Crunsh, Brain Busta, Eddbutt, Squish and the Take and hold mission.

In the northern end of the battleground sat a high hill, going down towards the middle of the board. A trench had been dug in the craggy hills, from where the center and southern part of the battlefield could be viewed. Close to the trench sat a particular large rock. The orks take and hold objective was at the base of that rock. The southern end of the battleground had a large wood and a minor hill. Rock were scattered all over the battlefield, giving name to “Rock canyon”.

The bulk of the ork army was deployed on the center of the battle line. Massed mobs of grechins was pushed forward, covering the Bad moon clan, the support weapons, the Shokk attack gun team and warboss Clawfinga and his trusted battlestandard.

The orks take and hold objective was placed just next to the ladder standing up against the large rock next to the left of the to gobsmashas.

On the southern end of the line Clawfinga deployed the Goofs, hanging desperately on to the battlewagon. The battlewagon was protected by a Gobsmasha and its wild boy crew . The brand new Dreadnought and the lascannon armed nobz deployed close by and cowered the open southern end. The evil sunz big boss and the painboy was hiding in a small wood at the very southern end of the board.

In the northern end of the battle line things got a bit crammed as well. The Warphead sat firmly in the back of one of the trukks. The other trukk transported the meganobz. The war bikes were deployed among the trukks as well. In front of all those vehicles sat yet another gobsmasha.



Clawfinga did not have any infiltrators, since the humie loving Blood Axe Komandoes had refused to follow him, in his pursuit of the squats. Puny Blood Axes. ..

Deployment Squats.

The Squats began this game with the following cards: Craven cowardice, last gasp, hammer of fury, force dome, machine curse, domination and the engage and destroy mission.

Stölz deployed one of his two predator tanks, on the most northern end of the squat line. The predator was supported by the trike riding heart guard. The 8´th Thunderer squad deployed in the relatively safety of a large crater. 5´th attack squad and 3´rd squad both tried to find cover behind a large rock.

The center was dominated by another squat predator. Most of the squat command deployed close to the predator. Medic Neils Groen, engineer Ovur Ironbender and ancestor lord Eske Whitehand all stayed behind the massive tank. 4´th and 2´nd squad both took cover behind some minor vegetation, protecting their commanding officers.

The bike squadron deployed behind a large flat rock on the southern flank. The 7´th Thunderer squad, armed with heavy bolters, deployed on the flat rock itself. 1´st squad took cover in a minor crater located in the southern end. Warlord Stölz himself deployed among the bikers behind the large flat rock.

Finally the squats deployed the pirates in the trench in the center of the battle field. From that forward position the pirates hid themselves, waiting for the green tide.

After deploying all forces the orks won the right to go first.. Not surprisingly. Now the battle for Rock Canyon could begin.

Hello mr. D_Arquebus.
Thanks for the interest.
Clawfinga was an old roleplay/fantasy ork, that I converted back in the 90´ties. It was an ork in winter clothes, fur coat, wollen hat ect.
Well, that is how I remember the old model. I could very well be mistaken biggrin.gif

After deploying all forces the orks won the right to go first.. Not surprisingly. Now the battle for Rock Canyon could begin.

Ork turn 1

Compulsory Move.
On the southern end of the ork battle line, the wildboyz in the gobsmasha fought vigorously trying to get a hold on the gobsmashas steering wheel. None succeeded, so the gobsmasha rolled forward 10 inches. Because of this Clawfingas grand assault plan could not be executed on the southern front. The gobsmasha effectively blocked the hole between the tall rock and the woods. This left the Goof mob unable to advance in their battle wagon.

In the other gobsmasha the strongest of the three wildboyz took control and raced towards the Squats.
Move and fire.

The brand new bad moon dreadnought and the three lascannon armed nobz advanced behind the gobsmasha. But they had their lines of sight blocked by the wild gobsmasha, so no shooting this turn. The Bad Moons finest loudly cursed the wild and ill disciplined Evil Sunz youngsters in the gobsmasha.

The Evil Sunz big boss and the doc both ran towards the safety of the large wood on the most southern end of the battlefield.

The Goofs in the battlewagon steadied themselves. The battlewagon stayed put behind the slow moving gobsmasha, expecting to commence the assault next turn.

In the center Clawfinga charged with the horde of greenskins around him. The grechins were at the front taking all the shots, then the Bad Moon mob, the battle standard and Clawfinga himself

The ork advance.

The support weapons sat on the hillside just behind Clawfinga, with a clear over view of the squats center and southern flank. The overly jolly grechins sized up the distance to the squats Bike squadron and lighted the big fuse on the Pulza rokit. The ramshackle rokit flew across the battlefield and landed its pulse generator among the squat bikes and trikes. Slowly the generator started to heat up, the squats would be hit severely by energy waves in a short while.

Looking jealously at the pulza rokit crew, the grechins manning the squig catapult fired at the ancestor lord. But failed to hit anything. But the grechins manning the lifta droppa carefully took aim at the squat predator in the center of the squat battle line. The lifta droppa lashed out and grabbed the squat tank, lifting it helplessly up into the air. Then the tank was dropped right on top of the ancestor lord, the engineer and 3 other squats. The tank smashed into the ground and crushed the squats to jelly.

Two warriors from 4´th squad and one from 2´nd squad were killed. The ancestor lord and the engineers armor and fields failed, and they both suffered 1D12 damage . The predator was instantly destroyed earning the orks their first 2 vp.
The Shokk Attak team went on over watch.

The entire ork army cheered, when the predator squished the mighty ancestor lord and the engineer. But the orks could not believe their eyes, when first the engineer and then the ancestor lord both crawled out from under the wreck. The engineer had only suffered one wound and the ancestor lord only 2.

On the northern flank the other gobsmasha advanced on the squats and fired its battle cannon at the other predator. The shell hit home, but only the tracks were slightly damaged. The other squat predator could now only move at slow speed. The twin heavy bolters fired at squats from 3´rd squad, but missed.
In the safety of the large hill on top of Rock Canyon the warphead advanced on the back of one of the trucks.

Furthest to the north the war bikes and a truck carrying 3 Bad Moon nobz in mega armor tried to flank the squats.

Physic.
There were plenty of warp power available. The warphead began the show with a well placed Da Krush at the 8´th thunderer squad hiding in the crater. The mighty foot of Gork crushed the entire unit. Only one thunderer survived.
When the dust settled 4 thunderers lay dead earning the orks another vp.

But before being torn apart from raw ork power one lascannon armed thunderer managed to fire his weapon. Using Last Gasp the lascannon fired and hit the gobsmasha. But the high energy beam failed to penetrate.

The ancestor lord tried to conjure up Force Dome, but he was nullified by the warphead. The warphead tried to Ead Butt the wounded ancestor lord, but was one inch short.

Squat turn 1.

Compulsory Move.

The pulsa rokit generator started hissing as it heated up. The near by squats watched with horror the ork device. And then the pulsa wave blasted away, knocking over everything, trees, rocks and squats. The pulsa wave had a 10´ radius. The entire bike squadron was thrown about, as was all squats from the 7´th thunderer squad, all squats from 1´st warrior squad and last but not least Stölz himself.
Despite all the turmoil, no ambulls appeared.

Movement and shooting:

The southern flank was flattened, so no squats advanced there. In the center Engineer Ovur Ironbender and Ancestor lord Eske Whitehand positioned themselves among some scrubs and minor rocks. Medic Niels rushed towards the ancestor lord and immediately started treating the old wounded squat healing one wound.
The remains of 2´nd and 4´th squad both fired at the advancing grechins killing a few.

Only in the northern sector things progressed recording to the squat battleplan. Well almost. The Predator limped forward in slow speed, but still managed to position it self to fire at the gobsmasha. The twin linked lascannons fired and hit the gobsmashas wheels. But the massive amount of energy only damaged the wheels. The gobsmasha went out of control.

The Pirates in the trench fired their heavy bolter at the gobsmasha, failing to damage the vehicle. The rest of the squad fired at the grechins killing a few more.

The squats from 3´rd warrior squad fired their heavy plasma gun at the gobsmasha destroying the gobsmashas battle canon. The Gobsmasha was not destroyed, but it was severely damaged earning the squats 1 vp.

The last standing thunderer squat from 8´th squad fired his lascannon at the busted gobsmasha, but the thick ork armor stopped the shot from penetrating.

The 5´th assault squad ran from their cover behind a large rock, and wisely took cover in the large crater, where the last thunderer from 8´th squad still held his ground.
The exo trike advanced and found cover behind the large hill dominating the northern end of the battlefield.

As retaliation the ork Mek boy powered up his shokk attack gun and fired at the pirates in the trenches. But he missed and accidently sent the frenzied snotling directly into the much banged up gobsmasha. The snotlings tore everything apart within the gobsmasha, resulting in the ork player having to roll a D6 every turn. On a result of 6 the gobsmasha would explode with a D6 radius.

Physic:

Eske Whitehand had recovered from being flattened by a Predator and tried to dominate an orb boy with a heavy plasma gun, but was nullified. The warphead gathered all his strength and squished all life out of the last lascannon carrying squat from 8´th squad wiping the squad and earning the orks 2 vp.

But Eske was not done. He looked into the southern gobsmashas machine soul and cursed the defenseless vehicle. The machine curse stunned the southern gobsmasha, that now sat helplessly still.

Orks 6 ( 4 + 2 for wiping 8´th thunderer squad)
Squats 1 (0 + 1 for damaging the gobsmasha)

Orks turn 2.

Compulsory Move.

All the turmoil from battle echoed into the rocks of Rock Canyon, and the sensitive vibration organs on nearby Ambulls went crazy. From all over Rock Canyon Ambulls were heading towards the battle ground. Finally the first Ambull broke the surface. It appeared amongst the ork warbikes that were flanking the squats in the northern end. An Evil Sunz warbiker was torn from his roaring machine and devoured by the ferocious beast.

The southern Gobsmasha was still unable to move due to the Ancestor lords machine curse. The northern Gobsmasha was out of control and smashed right into a cliff wall, without taking any damage. One of the boyz in the heavily damaged Gobsmasha managed to fire the twin heavy bolters at 5´th squad hiding the crater killing one.

Moving and shooting

On the southern end of the front the Evil Sunz Big boss and his trusted painboy ran through the woods closing in on the flattened squats. The Dreadnought and the Bad Moon mega blasters advanced and positioned themselves at the edge of the wood covering the center with their big gunz. The mega nobz fired across at the northern predator, hitting it twice. The heavy lasguns penetrated the hull and killed all the predator gunners. The Dreadnought fired all its guns at 3´rd squad killing a 2 but jamming the heavy bolter.

The battlewagons driver could no longer wait behind the paralyzed Gobsmasha. The battlewagon and the entire Goof mob drove in behind the bulk of the ork army.

In the middle of the ork army Clawfinga pushed his greenskins forward. The Grechin meat shield ran wildly towards the squat line, followed by the Bad Moon mob and the Battle standard. The Bad Moons also took control over their objective earning the orks 5 VP.

The greenskinns cheered as their battleplan seemed to work perfectly. Among the green horde a corridor opened up giving Clawfinga a clear line of sight to the squat line.
Clawfinga took careful aim at the warriors of 2´nd squad and fired his kustom shoota. But the kustom weapon exploded without a single squat getting hurt.

The Trukk transporting the Warphead drove to the edge of the trench. The Warphead got off the Trukk and charged the pirates in the trenches. The enraged Warphead managed to kill one pirate, before the pirate Captain stepped up to the challenge and fought it out with the Warphead. The Captain had the upper hand, but the Warphead just barely survived. The ork Trukk was supposed to provide some much needed support fire, but the heavy bolter missed the pirates.

The support weapons did not hit anything. The squig catapult landed a squig pot just next to the flattened thunderes of 7´th squad. The shokk attack gun went on over watch.

On the northern end of the orks battle line the flanking move continued. The warbikers raced towards the squats effectively flanking them. But the Trukk stopped and the 3 mega nobz got off and took up positions. In a blaze of plasma fire the mega nobz fired at 5´th squad in the crater. The well trained mega nobs killed the remaining 4 squats from 5´th squad, earning the orks another VP.

Psysic.

The Warphead knew that it would only be a matter of time, before the Pirate Captain would kill him, so the mad Warphead used his psysic advantage and squished the Captain. Slowly all life was squished out of the Captain, who died in agony. With the Captain dead the Warphead stood alone and faced the rest of the squat Pirates.

The cursed Ancestor Lord reached across the battlefield and into the mind of the Bad Moon boy carrying the heavy plasmagun. Unable to control his limbs the ork boy fired the heavy plasma gun at full power directly at his buddies in the Bad Moon mob killing the Nob and 3 other boys.
With their nob dead the Bad Moons were shaken, but they pulled themselves together and made their break test.

But the Ancestor lord was not done. He conjured up his arcane powers and placed a force dome just in front of the dreadnought, effectively blocking the can´s line of sight.

But within the northern Gobsmasha a burning snotling had found his way to the ammo storage. The Gobsmasha exploded in a gigantic fireball destroying the vehicle earning the squats another 2 VP. The flames took the two minders, who had not followed the Warphead into the trenches. But the flames also killed the two boyz manning the Truck earning the squats another 2 VP, and sending the flaming Trukk wreck out of control.

Squats turn 2.

Behind the ork main force the ground started to tremble. And then the surface was broken. The Termite surfaced precisely where Warlord Stölz wanted it to. The doors opened and five exo armored squats exited the vehicle.

Gerd Oreson and his Exoes had arrived. The squat elite warriors fanned out and fired all their weapons straight into the back of the advancing ork horde. The twin linked bolters took a heavy tool on the Bad Moon mob. The squat Exo carrying the twin linked auto cannon squished his trigger and the weapon started to deliver death to the greenskins, but something was wrong. The solid weapon suffered a catastrophic malfunction and exploded, but left the exo squat unharmed. The Exoes had arrived.

The Bad Moon mob had suffered 50 % casualties, but made their break test. But the amount of dead Bad Moons gave the squats 1 vp.

Not far from the Exoes the Pirates found themselves with a golden opportunity. The Warphead stood within the trenches and faced the remaining Pirates. They let loose with all they had. And when the smoke cleared, the cursed Warphead collapsed into the muddy trench perforated with hundreds of bullets. The Minderz who were supposed to protect the Warphead broke and fled the trenches. The Pirates had beaten back the fist wave of orks and earning the squats another 3 vp for killing the Warphead.

The Pirates looked up from their trench. The could see the badly damaged Predator tank advancing just next to the trench. Initially the pirates rejoiced because of the tank support, but no weapons were fired from the Predator. Within the steel monster all squats but the driver were dead. The tank would be of little help.

But the Pirates had forgotten the squat hero on his exo trike. As a lone knight the Hero raced towards the orks support weapons. The squat hero aimed his doom lance carefully at the shokk attak gun armed Mekboy and thrusted his lance deep into the orks chest, that exploded violently. The Mekboy was dead, but old Runtheard steadied the snotling ammo and the mob made their break test.

At the back of center of the squat battle line the warriors from 4´th squad fired the heavy plasmagun at the dreadnought, but missed the target. The rest of the warriors fired their lasguns at the grechin meat shield to little effect.

Just behind 4´th squad were Eske Whitehand an Ovur Ironbender recovering from having a Predator tank dropped on their heads. Both squats were severely wounded. Medic Niels Groen hasted to the old Ancestor Lord, who all ready was in a trance calling upon ancient powers despite his grave wounds. With fast and precise hands Niels Groen succeeded in stopping the worst bleeding, and the Ancestor Lord healed one wound.

There were no squat forces left on the northern flank. But on the southern flank the shaken Warlord Stölz Roarskilde slowly got up again. The energy blast from the pulsa rokit had caused havoc among the bikes and trikes and all other forces on the southern front. All around him squat warriors tried to get up and find their gear. 7´th thunderer squad quickly found their heavy bolters and ran to the top of a cliff taking positions. From here they could cover the entire battlefield, but is was a vulnerable position.

The sad remains of the bike and trike squadron advanced, facing the bulk of the ork army. Only one bike and one trike had survived the pulsa rokit. They fired at the grechins with no real effect.

After reorganizing the troops on the southern front Stölz decided, that it was time for action. He activated his warp jump trying to land next to the dreadnought. But he was off target and found him self with in the woods holding the Evil Sunz Big boss and the painboy.

Hmm. Stölz looking displeased at the two orks. He would not be able to reach the dreadnought in time to save the 7´th Thunderers. Those two orks running in the woods would pay for this.

Psysic:
Eske Whitehand was hurt, but he was not beaten. Again the tried to dominate the mind of one of the Bad Moons. But the ork showed a surprising resilience and Eske was denied access to the orks simple mind. After the failed attempt the fickle warp drained all psysic energy from the battlefield. The orks had played energy drain and the southern gobsmasha was finally free from the machine curse.

Orks turn 3.

Compulsory Move.

The wild boyz in southern Gobsmasha were finally free from the stunti wizards machine curse, and free to drive the Gobsmasha. But the wild boyz were much too eager to get along, and none of the wild boyz were strong enough to get control of the steering wheel. The southern Gobsmasha gently rolled straight into the southern woods, where it came to a halt after hitting several mega armor Nobz, who all survived.

The buzzer squigs flying around within the squats battle line were still hungry. The little buggers engulfed a squat biker, who was eaten up earning the orks 1 vp for destroying more than 50% of the bike squadron.

But nothing compared to the out of control ork truck, that was heading for the squat pirates within the trenches. The burning truck crashed straight into the trenches where it exploded. Fire and metal bits flew all around killing 3 pirates. The survivors quickly returned to their positions, it would take more to break the pirates.

The raging Ambull on the northern end of the ork battle line charged another Evil Sunz Warbiker. The ferocious beast hastily chopped the doomed biker pieces.

Movement and shooting.

On the southern front the Bad Moon mega nobz with lascannons turned their attention towards the Exo squats, that had arrived behind the main ork force. Three lascannons were fired at the Exo´es, and all three shots were deadly. The mega nobz had earned the orks another vp for the three exo armor squats.

The dreadnought lumped forward into the open, but with a clear view of the squat heavy trike, and the 7´th thunderer squad on top of the rock. The Bad Moon Can burned two thunderers to death with its heavy flamer and sent a crack missile straight at the heavy trike. But the missile missed its target, and the deadly multi melta carrying heavy trike stood unharmed.

In the center warboss Clawfinga turned around and charged the Exo leader. With a battle roar the snotling ammo joined the charge, and the greenskins swamped the remaining two exo armor squats. With swift hands Clawfinga sliced the first exo squat, who collapsed on the ground. But the Exo boss fought ferociously and Clawfinga was unable to slay the squat elite warrior.

Clawfingas charge roar encouraged the Goof mob. Finally the Goof horde left the battlewagon and swamped the pirates in the trenches. With axe and boltpistol wave upon wave of Goof boyz threw themselves at the few remaining pirates. But the pirates were not about to give up their trench. The pirates fought well and managed to kill 2 boyz and only losing one pirate. But the Goof nobz now stood in the trenches that were filled with blood and dead bodies.

The ork field artillery fired at the squat line, but failed to hit anything. The Bad Moon mob took cover around the orks objective and fired at 7´th thunderer squad killing one squat armed with a heavy bolter. The 7´th thunderers had now suffered more than 50% casualties earning the orks 1 vp.

Nothing happened in the psysic phase.

Squats turn 3.

Movement and shooting.

The squats had no units left in northern end of the frontline, but in the center the Pirates and 3´rd warrior squad stood their ground. By now only a few pirates were still alive, but still the brave pirates managed to kill 2 Goofs and only loosing a single pirate.

For a brief second all the turmoil in the trench stopped. The heavily damaged Predator accelerated as much as possible and rammed the Battlewagon. The much heavier Predator flipped the Battlewagon over, and the ork vehicle smashed into the ground, without the Predator taking any damage. This earned the squats 2 vp.

But the Pirates were still being overrun in the trench. 3´rd warrior squad supported the Pirates the best they could. The warriors fired their lasguns into the advancing Goof horde killing a single goof. The Squat armed with a heavy plasmagun decided to fire at the Dreadnought. But the shot missed.

3´rd warrior squad desperately trying to halt the ork advance.

Among the ork lines the lone exo armored squat heartguard on Exo trike raced past the ork Smasha gun. As he passed he thrusted his Doom Lance into the ramshackle ork support weapon and destroyed it with a hit and run attack. The Exo heartguard closed in on the ork Warboss, that were fighting the last of the Exo armor squats, the squad leader Gerd Oreson.

Gerd could hear the exo trike closing in. Finally some much needed assistance had arrived. But the greenskins were craving all over him. The tiny snotlings literally crawled around upon his trusted exo armor, sticking their little green fingers into even the smallest crevasse. At the same time the Bad Moon Warboss tried to slice Gerd up, with his long sharp clawfingers. Repeatedly the deadly sharp claws took their toll on Gerds exo armor. The sheer horde of snotlings slowly drained Gerds energy, until he could no longer defend himself properly. The grand ork took advantaged off the situation right away. He found a damaged joint in Gerds exo armor, and one of his long steel claws were forced through the joint and deep into Gerds body. Once inside the massive loss of blood and tissue damage brought Gerd down. The proud Exo armors had been destroyed, and the squat surprise attack had been eliminated. Destroying the Exo´es earned the orks 2 vp.

On the southern end of the squat battle line Warlord Stölz still had unbroken units. The situation was dire, but the squats were still fighting. The last intact vehicle in the bike squadron, was a heavy trike armed with a multi melta. The gunner had a clean shot on the dreadnought. He squished the trigger and the heat based weapon draw in the air around the weapon itself, before releasing the heat beam.

The shot was perfect. The entire dreadnought was engulfed in melta energy, and the dreadnought quickly started to melt. The squats fighting in the southern sector cheered, expecting the ork war machine to go down. But this did not happen. Two arms had melted away, and the legs were useless. The dreadnought was pinned to the ground, and only the heavy flamer was still functional. But the dreadnought was only damaged, not destroyed. This gave the squats 1 vp.

The grechins and Bad Moon mob in the center both were targeted with heavy bolter fire from the last thunderer of 7´th squad and from 1´st squad. Both heavy bolters missed.

Deep within the southern wood warlord Stölz charged the Evil Sunz big boss. The warlord quickly killed the large ork, before following up on the tiny ork painboy, that had foolishly followed the Big boss into the woods. Killing the Bigboss gave the squats another 2 vp.

Psysic.
Eske Whitehand could feel the fear among his squat brothers. Something had to be done. He summoned all the energy he could and reached out, trying to dominate the mind of a heavy plasma gun armed Bad Moon ork. He easily penetrated the orks feeble mind, and directed the heavy plasma gun at the southern Gobsmasha. The ork pulled the trigger and the plasma ball smashed into the left rear tire of the halted vehicle. The wheel was blown off, and the Gobsmasha sat helplessly halfway within the southern woods. Damaging the southern Gobsmasha earned the squats 1 vp.

Orks turn 4.

Compulsory move.
The Ambull looked around for new victims after devouring the Evil Sunz warbiker, and found a Nobz in mega armor. The Ambull smashed into the solid mega armor and a life and death battle began.

Movement, shooting and close combat.

In the orks northern sector only the mega nobz and the Ambull remained. The two unengaged mega nobz decided to charge the Ambull, that was locked in close combat with the last mega armored nobz. The three nobz proved too much for even an angry Ambull. With their power fists the Nobz crushed the Ambulls tough hide. Finally the beast had been brought down.

The remaining two Evil Sunz warbikers, supported by the Trukk, raced around the squats battle line, and now found themselves deep within the center of the squats deployment zone. The warbikers and the Trukk fired their autocannons and heavy bolter at 1´st squad, but all shots missed.

In the center of the battlefield the unengaged Goofs charged the squats from 3´rd squad. In the trenches the bloody close combat continued. But 3´rd squad proved themselves to be rugged defenders. The Goofs only managed to kill one squat from 3´rd squad, who held their ground. The Goofs killed another 2 Pirates earning the orks 1 vp for killing more than 50 % of the Pirates. But the last Pirates refused to break, and kept fighting in the trench. The Goofs lost 2 boyz, but had failed to clear the trench and the supporting unit.

In the open just next to the trench the Grechins advanced and fired their autoguns at the last squat in 2´nd squad. He was killed earning the orks 1 vp. The Battlestandard and Bad Moon mob consolidated their control over the objective point.

Behind the bulk of the ork army Clawfinga and the snotlings attacked the squat Heartguard riding an exo trike. But Clawfinga failed to kill the Heartguard, that was saved by his trusted exo armor.

The greenskins ganged up on the Exo Heartguard, but he somehow managed to survive.

On the southern end of the ork front, the immobilized Dreadnought aimed the only functioning weapon system at the Heavy Trike. The two squats and the Trike it self were incinerated, and the threat from the multi melta had been destroyed.

The lascannon armed Mega Nobz easily killed the last thunderer from 7´th squad wiping the squad. This gave the orks 1 vp.

In the southern woods the poor painboy was slayed by the stunti warboss. Killing the painboy earned the squats 1 vp.

Psysic.

Nothing happened in the psysic phase. The old stunti was to far away from the orks to dominate any unfortunate greenskins.

Squats turn 4.

Warlord Stölz knew that the situation was dire. The orks controlled the northern and central sectors. His squats holding the trenches would give in at any time. Clawfinga had turned the open ground in the central sector into a killing field. It would not be long before Clawfinga could destroy the remaining forces in the southern sector. Stölz would have to withdraw the last of his squats and retreat to the landing site, if the 5 Hammerships should have even the smallest chance of leaving the planet.

In the trench the last Pirates fought bravely and killed 2 Goofs, losing only a single pirate who was still holding his ground in the trench. The Pirates had stayed true to Warlord Stölz´ orders, holding the trench against all odds.

Just behind the trench 3´rd squad held its ground. In the savage close combat a Goof boy was killed, but a proud warrior from 3´rd payed for that with his life.

The scattered squat units around the upside down predator fired at the Bad Moon mob killing a single ork. Engineer Ovur Ironbender left the squats around the predator and hasted to a rider less bike, mounted it and drove towards the Bad Moons. He fired the twin bolters at the Bad Moon mob and killed another boy. The squat firepower forced the Bad Moon mob to take a break test. But the orks had their cursed yellow banner to close to them, and they refused to break.

Medic Niels Groen and Ancestor lord Eske Whitehand knew it was time to act. They left their cover and fired at the Evil Sunz warbikers. Eskes melta gun burned a large hole in the chest of the nearest Evil Sunz killing the ork. This earned the squats 1 vp.

In the southern woods Warlord Stölz turned his attention towards the damaged Gobsmasha. He charged the vehicle, and hammered the helpless iron box with his powerfist again and again. But the Gobsmasha was too solid a construction for Stölz to destroy in such a short time. But Stölz did not have time, nor any intact units left on the frontline. He called upon Eske Whitehand and the rest of the squat army to retreat from Rock Canyon.

Psysic:
The few squats that were still alive started to pull back, but Eske was not quite done. He dominated a simple ork mind and had the ork fire a boltpistol at the Battle standard. The large banner holding ork was only saved by an old refractor field.

The armored sons of Stynz hastily retreated their scattered units from Rock Canyon. Warlord Stölz had failed to stop the orks advance, but he had managed to severely damage Clawfingas army. It would take the greenskins a few days to regroup themselves, but then the green horde could march straight into the landing site.

Warlord Stölz had lost many good squats in Rock Canyon. But he still had most of his officers. Medic Niels Groen had survived, and so had had Ancestor Lord Eske Whitehand. The young trike riding heartguard had also survived. His heroic deeds had not gone unnoticed within the armored sons of Stynx or at the squat council.

Reports came in indicating that an intact section of the planetary defense system were located only 80 km. from the landing site. But the guns were not online, the reason for that was unknown. This was perhaps the chance Stölz needed. If those guns could be activated, they could keep the ork space hulk busy, while the Hammerships could slip by. If not, then Stölz would have to make his last stand within the landing site.

Clawfinga had taken Rock Canyon and sent the stunties fleeing. But his orks had suffered quite a beating from the squats and Clawfinga needed to gather his troops and have the Meks working at damaged vehicles. Especially the not so brand new Bad Moon Dreadnought needed to be repaired. He would make camp in Rock Canyon for a day or two, and then go after the stunties. He was the true waargh warboss. He would lead the orks on this planet, and he would be the one who finished the squats off.

After 36 hours a wierdboy picked up a message from the space hulk.
- Warboss Blackmaine is awake…
- All orks return to coordinate 23.2233447822 – 48.2235699932
- We march towards da humies

Clawfinga hammered his green fist into a table. “Damm it” the large ork shouted.
