There has been some questions about the painting requirement.

The competition is awarded to the best general on the day. The best general doesn't need to the prettiest troops. As such paint score has no impact on the final results.

This is a miniatures tabletop game though and many of us enjoy painting armies as much or more than our ability to push them around a table. As such there is also a separate prize for best presented army that has it's own trophy and reward. Hopefully seeing wonderful painted armies will help encourage those new or with lesser painting skills to try to improve their own position in the following years.

Miniatures must be based on the correct base size for the unit. There must be a minimum of 50%+1. Models must be assembled such that they don't fall apart when moved and must be able to be distinguished as the troop type they are representing. Full details are in the players packs.

The players pack has had a minor updated to include the Destiny of Kings Characters and The Twilight Kin as an allowed army list.

Entry is coming up fast for this event, time to start letting the TO know who's coming so the correct number of items can be sourced.

Just a reminder that loan armies and units are available for Crows Feast if you want to play but still need to fill out your army. Just post what units you need here and we'll organise it for you.

Still haven't finalised my own army!

Question on infantry character basing. I have figures on 25x25mm bases, do I need to hack the bases down to 20x20mm?

Individuals will be fine on 25x25mm bases. The character suffers from having a larger base. The tournament back also allows up to 10mm extra over specified base sizes (except war machines which already have rules for oversized bases)

We have 8 or 9 players paid up so far. Plenty of time for others to join in.

I'm looking at preparing a lot of Bigos for lunch at this event. A hearty meal for a full day of fighting. Anyone attending who has problems with any of the standard ingrediants please let me know before hand so I can make alternative arrangements. It will be accompanied by Rye bread.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigos for details of this meal.

The Crows Feast competition was run on June 12th after a 6 year break. We had 12 entries in the competition playing 4 rounds of 2000 point Kings of War games. The day was a great success and the winner was followed very closely by lots of other entrants.

The results are:

==============================================
Andrew Kerekes        Twilight Kin       17/31
Ross Dawe             Salamanders        15/45

Sean Davis            Goblin             15/35
Jason Chellow         Goblin/Ogre        11/27
Christopher Sexton    Brotherhood        10/43
Matthew Nield         Twilight Kin        9/35
Gregory Nield         Ogre                7/52

Christopher Earl      Ogre                5/53
Lawrence Greaves      Orc/Twilight Kin    5/36

Congratulations to Chris Sexton for winning the Best Army award for his Brotherhood force.

Thank you to Jackal Design for the sponsorship of tokens and cutting of the awards handed to winners on the day.

Competition photos are available on our Facebook page.

And a reminder to everyone that Kings of War continues to be very popular at the club. Come in during one of our gaming sessions to check it out and all of the other activities we have.

Great day and good fun!

A fantastic way to play my first 4 games with good opponents in a friendly environment.

Cant wait until the next one, i learned alot and made a heap of mistakes. 4 games did take it out of me though, i think rolling so many dice leaning over the tables wore the old back down by game 4 smile.gif
