At long last I've got my tiles. Here's my first table, it consists of 3 x Master set #1 and 3 x Master set #2. I definitely need more but will hold off until I can see what's in the D&D master set. I've used the swamp hex from set #2 to both represent forest and level 2 water. I'll be getting some trees from my LGS today to put on the 'forest template.

I'm going to do my first B-Tech battle report in the next couple of weeks so watch this space! smile.gif

It'll be nicer shortly as I get my trees done. Already got the body of the trees, just need to find suitable bases and then paint and flock/attach clump foliage.

Defintely a goer on the unspecified future game!

I live in Campbelltown NSW. That is about 238 km and takes about 2+1/2 hours to drive. But if you were willing to play a game, my local gaming shop "The Hall of Heroes" lets you play games on their tables. You can set up the table scenery, and even GM it. I have Heavy Metal Pro on the computer at home 3 blocks away, and I have an extensive battletech collection.

They generally open from 12 noon till around 7pm at night most nights, and are closed Mondays. Matt, the owner could arrange something, and advertise it in his store's calender, and on his website. We could also spread the word around on this web forum, and on others we are listed with to generate more interest.

Let me know if you would like to try this. I know it would be a bit out of your way, but it should be fun.

Hi Deb, first time I've look at this topic in a while. No chance I'd be coming up there - haven't played for about 18 months and the hex boards take a couple of hours to set up.

Too bad about that. It would be good to organise a Battletech Competition similar to what they used to do at MOAB. I think CAMCOM still have Battletech going.

I know that Battletech has died off severely since its heyday back in the 70s, 80s and early 90s, but it has made a few comebacks with sword and dragon and hopefully with the release of the new anniversary box set it will get even more newcomers to the game.

My friend Martin Kern has a lot of1 1/2" thick foam rubber sheets that are painted with hexes on them, and he has lots of hills cut to shape. Along with this he has the specialised Battletech buildings and other designed for this scale game.

Since you mentioned trees in one of your previous posts, there are out there some smaller terrain trees that come in boxes of about 100 that have a small spike in their base. They can be slotted onto the tiles to represent forests and the slightly bigger trees can be used to represent heavy forests. I will have to check where Martin got them from.

Another great board set up, emplion. Huge river looks like a great battlefield obstacle!!!
