Luke has been having Net issues for the past few weeks but has told me the players pack from last year will likely be the same (ie 6 games, one of which is a team game which doesnt effect standings and is no comp with rejections for unfriendly lists and will be using standard out of the book missions.)

Any questions, please post them here and I will pass them on to Luke.

Hey guys,

I am indeed having internet issues, which meant I haven't been able to post an updated player's pack yet, or reliably check/reply to emails. As John indicated - if you've got any questions, it's best to direct them to John and he can let me know.

Also, there WILL BE ARMY COMP this year, marked out of 10 (contrary to John's comment). I did think about removing comp, but have decided to leave it in place.

For reference, last year's player's pack is here:

http://lnh.id.au/files/ANUCON2012PlayersPack.pdf

Important Changes this year:
  • The date (to September 21st-22nd 2013)
  • Army lists are due Friday September 13th - remember to submit both a 1500pt list and a 1000pt sublist for the paired game
  • Early payments close Sunday September 8th - same prices as last year ($35 for early, $40 otherwise)
  • Most recent codex as of 1st August 2013. I'll update once we know what September's release is, assuming it's out on the 7th I'll let it in but I'll confirm this then.
  • Forgeworld lists are disallowed this year, although individual forgeworld units are allowed by approval only (and approval is on a per-army-list basis).

Scoring remains the same (40% battle, 40% sports, 20% army). The army score will be half painting and half army comp (same as last year). There WILL BE ARMY COMP, marked out of 10 by me prior to the tournament.

Opponent scoring will likely be a lot simpler this year - expect an A5 sheet per round rather than an A4 one (and that won't just be because I use a smaller font either).

Prizes (expected - potentially subject to change):
1st overall
2nd overall
3rd overall
1st sport
2nd sport
3rd sport
best themed army
best painted army
max wallace encouragement award

As always, BBQ lunch and drinks are included for both days.

Thanks guys, and sorry again for my lack of communication recently (and I expect ongoing for at least the next few weeks...)

Luke

Update: ANU Security has gotten back to me with function approval, so we're definitely on for 21-22 September!

Argh. Why must work trips always be on the same weekends as good 40K tournaments!?

List submitted.

Started undercoating 1500 points of Khorney Goodness on Saturday 17 August (49 figures, 3 vehicles). 'Dip' applied Saturday 24 August.
Finished dullcote yesterday arvo (26 August). Some repairs will be needed due to being too close with the spray on 2 of the metal boxes... but a bit of wet/dry and a respray tonight should fix it.

Fastest 40K army on record for me... armata_PDT_36.gif (painted to a decent tabletop standard - more than 3 colours... of course it's nothing worthy of a Golden Demon)... but that's what you get when the missus and bub are away and the Goat is left to his own devices...

Have also started assembly on bits to prepare da Deff Wingz for a return to MOAB (should be painted in the next couple of weeks I s'pose...

I had my wife and bub away last week, had grand plans of finsihing all my Ravenwing units, a full schedule written up to keep me on track etc etc.

Ended up spending majority of this time on the lounge with the dogs playing PS3 and Xbox. Dammit.

Nice to see people are gearing up and getting ready for the tournament!

If you haven't already registered but you're planning on attending, please don't forget to email me ( mrmoowithnounderscore@gmail.com ), particularly if you'd like to pay early (by September 8th) and get the $5 discount and/or would like to pay by bank transfer.

ANNOUNCEMENT: As Codex: Space Marines is supposed to be released on the 7th, it'll be used for ANUCON2013.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the tournament!

Luke

I'm also guessing the same applies to the Black Legion Supplement too? It's already available on iTunes but not as a book or other digital downloads.

Yep, as it's already out in some places and is supposed to be released on the 7th as an e-book as well, the Black Legion Supplement is also allowed.

Hey everyone, just an update (and reminder):

PRIZES will again be kindly supplied by Good Games, and will be awarded for the following:
1st Overall
2nd Overall
3rd Overall
Best (1st) Sport
Good (2nd) Sport
Best Themed Army
Best Painted Army
Max Wallace (Wooden Spoon)

EARLY ENTRY DISCOUNT closes this Sunday 8th September - if you would like to pay early and get a $5 discount (making the entry fee $35), I'll be at Good Games on Saturday after lunch and at the ANU on Sunday night. It's probably too late for bank transfers, but if you'd still like to pay by bank transfer email me ASAP ( mrmoowithnounderscore@gmail.com )

ARMY LISTS are due on next Friday 13th September. Please make sure you specify who will be your warlord and warlord trait table, any power weapon / force weapon types, and include the 1000pt sublist for the non-battle-scored paired game. I AM REMOVING THE REQUIREMENT FROM LAST YEAR TO PRE-SPECIFY PSYCHIC POWER DISCIPLINES, as it doesn't really add anything and just makes taking psykers even more annoying.

Finally, thanks to everyone who's expressed interest, registered, and/or paid so far - I'm currently at 19 registrations/expressions of interest, of whom 10 have already paid, and we're still more than two weeks out.

Can we make it to 27 to make this the biggest ANUCON ever (and not just equalling the biggest ANUCON ever like we did last year)? Let's find out!

Luke

Does the sublist have to compose entirely of units from the main list?
