I am still bashing out the final details and what not as 8th ed has thrown a few interesting scenarios in front of what is normally a straight forward shoot out.

This event will be running as a Escalation Style Event

You should only use 1 book per Force, unless they are in the same book at which point use that 1. Sprocket decides to use Space wolves for her Primary Force and JeanSteeler Cult for her Reserve Force so will use Imperium 1 and Xenos as their specfic codexes are not out yet.

Primary Force, Patrol Detachment of 1250 points.
750 points of this list will be used on Friday, then the remainder will be used on Saturday.
Your list, when submitted, will have the Day 1 units marked. Your Warlord must be in your Day 1 list.

Reserve Force, Patrol Detachment of 20 Power
This will be used on Sunday, as well as your Primary Force.
This force will NOT gain / give any benefits from the Primary Detachment, ie synapse, Leadership sharing or re-rolls.
For every table worth of "usable" terrain you bring your Detachment gains 1 extra Power. Limits apply.
"Usable" terrain is defined by being able to cover 25% of a 6" x 4" table. It should contain Pieces that block line of sight or give a height advantage. These can be unpainted.

-Warlord & Pyschic powers will be chosen and must be marked on your Army List. Psychic powers may not be duplicated across multiple psychers, Smite doesn't count for this.
-Each Army will get 3 Command Points for each game. Yep, just 3 Command Points. If you plan on using Command Points for Pre-Game events, they must be marked on your list.

We will be located in the Fitzroy Pavilion, which is 4 minutes closer to Macdonalds than the Main Halls.
Friday will be 3 games or maybe 4.
Saturday will be 3 games
Sunday will be 2 games.

Entry via CGS website is now open.
Player Pack via Dropbox

If you are on this list, you HAVE NOT sent me a list submission.

Kane K
Matthew M
Luke S
Tim W
Roger That

If you know these slackers please prod them. I have sent them emails to teh address they registered on.
They have until TUESDAY night to contact me or severe penalties will be applied.

Scott.

There will be other dot points but this is the basic gist.

Looking at coming to thos with some mates. Powerlevel is IMHO is a pretty naff way to go, some #### is crazy out of whack, points would be a bit more logical (lascannon and mortar squads should not be equivalent power level).

Also is FW allowed (I sincerely hope so!) As an aside also are super heavies a thing (not knight titan bull######tery ofcourse tongue.gif).

Cheers,
Nick

I am sure many feel that Power Levels are rather broken at present, this is why i have got a points Limit also shown
FW is allowed so long as it has the Stamp and you bring a PRINTED copy of the rules, i don't want to have to read it on your Nokia 7600. Nope, Patrol Detachment has no "fisted" unit s or Buildings.

Yeah forgeworld is mad.
Take an 850pt daemon and 2 units of pox walkers in a friendly 😆

While i am sure somewhere somebody may find this friendly, i feel this sort of list is a sure fire way to be given a note from me indicating you owe me dinner, a show, and Ice-cream and bus fare to get home.

Looking to play 40k this year after a long break since the end of 6th.

TO clarify we need three separate small lists that are all used individually?

750pt list day 1, 1250 day to and then whats the points for day 3? it only says powerlevel

If using power levels do all options.models at least have to be wisiwyg? So no just piling on everything for free>

--------------------
there are no bad choices if it has "Elves" in the title.

There are only bad people....and they play Elves

I imagine all this stuff will be clarified when there's a proper players pack out. At this stage it seems fairly preliminary just to give us an idea.

EO (Event Organ-Grinder) here,
6th Ed was the "good old days"
You are sort of right, 1 List will be for Primary Detachment (army) which you will use some of it Friday and then all of it Saturday.
Then on SUnday you will use your Primary List and your Reserve list. The reserve list can be from the same faction or a different faction, just has to be a legit Detachment.
Reserve Force is Power Level Only
Models must always be WISIWYG, or as close as possible. If he has Krak Grenades in his pocket thats ok, but if he has a lascannon then i reckon we want to see his lascannon, not a Pew Gun and Chain S Word.

Seem reasonable?

There is a Players Pack out but as we are still filling it with some shennaniganns and foolery we have not posted the link as yet.
Clarified? i am not familiar with this word.

Thanks I get it now, had to re-read your first post.
Will there be a means to award hobiests over gamers? Only reason I tend to come is to show off pretty models not really fussed on playing lol.

8th Ed kind of made this event harder than it needed to be.

You will be lining up for the Prettiest Pretty trophy? There is also the Hobbiest Hobbier award for those who go above and beyond the normal "slap on some paint and glue on some rocks"
We will be looking at:
Bases, Display Board, Theme, Presentation, mode of transport to event, conversions, sportsmanship, outfit and anything else we can think of.

so you're saying that everyone who's bought the ePubs of the FW Indexes is S.O.L. and will need to bring a printed version?

You know that you can pray out ePubs right? (If only the units you are using.)

I’ve heard of people when shown rules on a electronic device that they keep them turned on the entire game to drain the battery. Never seen it happen before but hey I thought it funny when I first heard it.

Nope, i am saying that if you want to run these then you will need to have a reasonable way of having the rules available if and when requested.

I heard a guy went to the men's room, sat down, Toileted, Flushed and then realised the bowl was cracked and his boots got full of water.

It has to be 75 power level but ALSO under 1250pts is that right?

Nope, it has to be the lower of the 2.

Your army may be 1248 points but only 47 Power, ir it may be 1134 points but be 75 power.
Whichever is lower

Please just make it normal points only.

Having you have to go by both points, but must have the lower of the 2 is just so much buggerising around for not much gain. Also Power Level is so out of whack it's not funny and doesn't allow any granuality (I have 2 units of 8 death riders, so I have to pay 20 power levels for them even though I'm missing almost 5 power levels worth of models)

Points please..makes it so much easier.

Quick question, it says at the top that the additional detachment of 20PL doesn't get any benefits from the initial list (i.e. Re-rolls) but does it work in the reverse? i.e. Can a character in the 20PL detachment provide rerolls to units in the initial 1250 list?
