Season Four - A Spring Renewal will commence shortly. Here is the game map showing the varying factions (so far), the main town centres (stars) and the location of each character involved in this season.

Twelve solo scenarios to be played between now and the end of November. Batreps here and on my blogsite. And through Quartterstaff ezine. armata_PDT_36.gif

Planning on playing three scenarios solo next week. Maybe fit in another two more by the weekend. Also incorporating several simple rule mechanisms to make the games more interesting for me as they arise. Will feature batreps here and on my blogsite as they arise. Cheers.

IPB Image
Scenario One: The Clearing
Jipps & The Black Riders (Free Company) vs Ulfgar Harlfsen (Scandinavian)
24 points
Added rules variation: Fire/Fire arrows
Table: 4' x 4'

IPB Image
Scenario Two: Mr Incredible
Gilles Carbere (French) vs Thomas de la Rouan (French)
24 points
Added rules variation: Hidden Treasure
Table: 4' x 4'

Scenario Three: The Fugitive
No map (refer to LR rulebook for parameters and conditions)
Gamon della Toscano (Italian) vs Rolad de Oiussons (Free Company)
24 points
Added rules variation: None.
Table: as stipulated in LR rulebook.

I should probably add LOS will be affected in Scenario One considerably. Will make that clear later through the subsequent batrep. armata_PDT_34.gif

Fun day Saturday for gaming. Finally got to use my dusty old FW Fire dragon. Scenario was the famed Magnificent Seven. Full batrep on blogsite here

But here are a couple of snaps from the game. Keen to replay it once we have tweaked it further to make it playable.

Finished off the fun session with a quick dogfight. Used the loan plane from Ronin (for Briscon). My opponent flew his Drei at me which set the tone for the rest of the game. Over a dozen turns later the Brisfit was tumbling out of the sky, engine shot up and the pilot dead. Lol.

IPB Image

Just wanted to add some words of praise for Ronin's skill at assembly and painting his three loan planes. My opponent and I were impressed. The Brisfit looked a beauty on the game table.

My gaffe. The above batrep is for Dragon Rampant; not Lion Rampant. Apologies for the confusion.

An engaging game of historical Medieval skirmishing (a la Lion Rampant skirmish rules) was held yesterday evening. The full batrep is here. Just a few snaps from the action however.

Played out the dream version of Scenario 2. Went better this time round for the Bassilian character, but then it should given it's his dream . Lol. Link.

Try again, shall we? Can't copy link to blogsite for some reason (Google or Word Press; can't be sure cos I'm not a tech geek). But played Scenario 3 Sunday. Long and tedious game. But the outlaws prevailed. So far, five out of the eight leaders have died thus making being a leader a very dangerous choice as a career option. Cheers.

Probably the fastest game was had yesterday morning. Scenario 6 took just six turns to reach an outcome. Batrep at usual location. Cheers.

Scenario 5 played just now. It went to nine turns and was fought in a rain deluge. Each turn it was diced for to see if it stopped. But it ran for nine turns which then complied with the game end stipulation set in the scenario. It was another quick game. Very quick.

Seven scenarios have now being played. There are five more to go to complete this campaign season. I am dispensing with the twelve month option choosing instead to condense it down to a month or two. And thus streamline my soli gaming projects. Which means I might finally tackle those other shelved campaigns I've had my eye on all these tears. armata_PDT_34.gif

I will produce the full list of scenario briefs once the campaign is done with my tweaked modifications. Cheers.

Racing through these. Made correction to post above: the original was NOT killed in that game: he was killed in the game just played. Scenario 7 done and dusted two hours ago. Four left to go: scenarios 8 - 11 inclusive. Hope to knock off one or two tomorrow. And the remainder during the week.

Was not expecting a game tonight but it happened nonetheless. Scenario 8: Convoy was played in less than a score of turns. This time round, Gilles got his revenge by demolishing some banditd who had the audacity to try and steal the herd he was driving to the markets. He personally took part in annihilating five enemy units. Score ended up being Bandits -3, Gilles 7!

Usual photo batrep up once I get round to it. Cheers.

EDIT: Scenarios played since campaign started:
Scenario 1: Clearing
Scenario 12: Blockade
Scenario 2: Mr Incredible
Scenario 3: Fugitive*
Scenario 4: A Local Affair
Scenario 5: Turnip Field
Scenario 7: Stockade
Scenario 8: Convoy*
* From LR book. The remainder are my own creation and incorporating mods made to make them more interesting -- at least for myself.

To date, the following leaders have died:
Ulfgar Harlfsen
Jipps, son of Gyss°
Bolgar the Deaf**
Gamon della Toscano°
Rolad de Ouissons°
Phillipe de Harjean°
Auron de Saxanisson**
** Original characters from the beginning (2015). The remainder are replacements over the season.
° Replacements for this season.
That's nearly half the listed retinues who are now leaderless.

Three more to go. Hope to do another tonight, and have it done by Friday.

Another Scenario (# 11) knocked over. The original draft, on recent review, seemed a simple repeat of one from the LR book. Nutting it right up to kickoff was a bit concerning at first. But it eventually designed itself once I found the first element. And it's an interesting mod too; rewriting the scenario later tonight.

Featured Gilles for the third time: it seems he's on a mission to erase that humiliation from Scenario 2. Score was Gilles, 5 Glory; Leo, 0 Glory.

Two more to go. Playing Scenario 9 tomorrow and then possibly 10 in the evening. Cheers.

Scenario 9: River Crossing played just now. Last one, Scenario 10: Ambush, to be played tonight. In this morning's game, two more leaders bit the dust. Hopefully the last two will be more sensible. So one hopes.

Score: Robert de Montfort (KIA) = 2 Glory; Outlaws (leader KIA) = -2 Glory.

Final gane of my solo campaign conpleted for this year. In blazing time too; twelve games! Photo captioned batreps of remaining games will be posted in due time. Scenario 11: Ambush. Highly successful ambush with the target retinue wiped out or routed or captured. The latter surrendered but were then executed. Score was Flemish = 6 Glory; Swiss = 0. Swiss leader killed in challenge duel which he instigated. Should have ran instead. smile.gif

Then I can finally focus on my long delayed RCW campaign (also 20mm) using modified Red Actions! rules, and the Battle of the Coral Sea refight (tabletop and map). Scale of ships: 1/3000 with 1/700 planes. Budda-buddah! armata_PDT_34.gif
