I managed to drop in on the guys yesterday and take some photos of the various armies and battles. It was nice to see so many really great looking armies.

I took quite a lot of photos ... here are a few:

Sure was Aeon, the event proved you can get quality armies showing up even without a comp score to impact. Denis took a strong stand on enforcing fully painted armies and the result was a tournament where basically every table had it's cinematic moments.

Heck, that encouragement even managed to get me off my lazy behind and finally paint some new DE minis... I reckon my Hellions looked pretty cool as a result...

Anyway, he set a great standard for a first tourney.

So many nice armies form those pics, I fell like more tourneys should enforce 100% painted.

The terrain setup looks good and DE players (Alex, Andrew) would have loved it? So many people seem to think that buildings and large hills go in the corners for some reason.

I'd love to see Doug's mycetic spores up close, the high-lighting and shading looks sweet.

Shame I missed it, damn thesis. I suppose there's next year.

Hoorray!! Jeremy Vetock is our Savior. Let's hope that this just wasn't the usual "test" marine dex as in the past.

I thought these Eldar figures looked spectacular (especially the first one). Did they win anything?

Thanks for the comments and glad you like my work.

I mainly used Vallejo game color paints for that model. I used a Layering technique and built up the multiple layers over the base of the model to get the transitioning of the brown and purple colors. The main colors used were Warlord Purple and Scrofulous Brown. The head I have done a gold NMM effect.

It took me about 2 and half months to finish it all up with around 30hrs of paint time. Yes I have no life sometimes. The actual face has been sculpted but not by me, I was lucky to find the conversion on ebay.

The marines? Just this one. They were still a work in progress so I only snapped a couple of pics. They were looking ok though.

Ah ok. So they're a min-3 colours job. No worries. I was wondering if I was missing some cool concept paintjob.
