KF fits on a carmine dragon, although my army is kislev, so I proxy the Ice Queen on Shard her Ice Dragon as him.

Happy holidays all!

Time off work means eating way too much, watching cricket and plenty of time for painting (at least, that's the plan).

Finished painting some demigryphs and pistoliers a while back, and am finally getting around to uploading pics. Painted them up with a knights of the blazing sun theme, which should break up all the red and yellow of the Talabecland units.

Next on the to paint table is the battle planetarium! (otherwise known as the celestial hurricanum)

Update time!

Finished the first of the empire buff wagons; think I'll call this one the battle planetarium. Whilst there is plenty of detail to paint, it means there is plenty of detail to paint. I also finished the last of the rank and file units, which was 10 Reiksguard knights. Some of the back rank suffer from the bent lance syndrome.

Next to be painted is an engineer, while I figure out how to magnetise some riders and if/how to pin the griffon's wings for ease of storage.

Nice work!

I love the Empire minis. Some of the first WHFB Armies I collected back in 2nd Ed.

Thanks for the feedback, gotta love that empire style (shame the old world was blown up...).

Finished the War Alter, which leaves only one buff wagon left (plus all a few other characters). Should probably play some games of 8th ed or the 9th age to get them all out of storage and on the table.

I'm taking a break from painting Empire, and working on some Infinity terrain. Between the big buildings and the scatter terrain it should be enough for a board. Painting terrain gives me some time to try and figure out a colour / camo scheme for my Ariadna minis.

So it's been a pretty productive two months of painting, and I've got a bunch of Infinity stuff to show off. It's just a pity that most of the range of minis I've been paitning is being dropped later this year (though the army list will live on). I've undercoated a bunch of terrain, but its just grey, and not worth showing off (yet). What I do have to show off is below.

Scatter terrain! Will add cover to hide behind, and the colour should break up the battlefield somewhat.

Minis! Currently working on the MRRF sectorial. I'm giving them names, because clearly that'll make them roll better.....

Up next on the painting bench is a 112 doctor; though most people call him doctor fire axe (he's not a real doctor, but it is a real fire axe....)

Nice brushwork on the minis and terrain.

It is a shame about the Sectorial no longer being produced but they are still fantastic miniatures smile.gif

I know what you mean about the old Warhammer World that was.. ....

I did not rage quit, I was very unimpressed with how it was handled and I am glad I never bought into the very expensive End Time Books.

Having said that my Son and I are having a great deal of fun playing AoS. We are only playing Narrative Missions games at present but it has been a great way to connect. Playing AoS is a bit of fun and not something I take seriously. I did order the new Starter set though - lol

Keep up the Blog. I am enjoying looking through the it and re-reading it. It has helped with my Hobby Mojo smile.gif

Well, it's been a pretty productive two-and-a-half months of painting (I really should update more often), and I've now got about a half dozen minis left to paint; at least for the MRRF. I've got a tournament next weekend and my plan is to have everything painted (still haven't finalised lists); even if the models don't make it on to the table.

Thanks for all the comments and views, enjoy the pics!

Scale creep! Whilst the both sculpts are pretty cool, there is a pretty big size difference between them (even though they're the same silhouette)

Chasseurs, all together now!

What's left on the MRRF painting table: five Briscards, one Anaconda, Duroc and a warcor

Well, that's the end of the Empire (At least in terms of painting.....).

This is end of this painting project, which I honestly thought I'd have knocked over a few years ago (but then again, all painting projects are probably like that. This one started (as a guess) over 10 years ago; before university, which put a massive break in my hobbying.

Whilst I've enjoyed painting Talabecland colours yellow is one of the most frustrating to paint, and will probably not be as prominent in future painting projects.

All up the army includes:
- 12 Characters on foot
- Five mounted characters
- 30 Greatswords
- 130 State troops with hand weapons (halberdiers, swordsmen, spearmen, full commands)
- 40 State troops with ranged weapons (crossbows, handguns, full command)
- 20 Archers
- 20 Flagellants
- 30 Knights
- 12 Pistoliers
- Six Demigryphs
- One Steam Tank
- Five war machines: two Cannons, two Hellblasters and one Mortar (and 15 crew)
- Three buff wagons: Hurricanum, Lumiark, War Alter

All for a grand total of 329 minis of varying sizes.

Group shots below!

Next up on the painting backlog / pile of shame is the rest of my Ariadna minis.

What an awesome Empire army!

A joy to behold, even if it does make me sad that its like shall never be seen on tabletops again.

Such a beautiful landskneckts army! This will go great in FOG or tercios ECT. Or you can just ignore AOS and play 8th like I do. My warriors never even considered round bases and I have a dwarf army in the works.

Possible to get a unit by unit view of the army?

Like the diversity in the infinity too. Shows that different units within the same force can have a wildly different approach to fighting and uniforms.

Cheers man, Ronin
