Hi Guys...

I thought It was about time we kicked this monkey out again. armata_PDT_36.gif

Rocking the Cities of Death
Warhammer 40K

1200pts - From any current Codex printed prior to 11 March 2012.
Entry: $15
Where: Good Games Gosford
When: 18 March 2012
Registration: 9.00am
Start Time: 9.30am

4 Games using the Cities of Death Special Rules. All missions will be Gamma Level missions with the addition of random game length.

Army Comp/Sports/Painting: Will not be part of the scoring. However if there is enough interest there may be a Best Painted Prize.

Missions to be played:
Firesweep
High Ground
Maximum Attrition
Urban Assault

Rule Differences:
1 - Each Table will have 4 stratagems available.
2 - Players roll off for either first turn or first stratagem pick. EG: Player 1 rolls a 5, Player 2 rolls a 3. Player 1 wins the roll so can either decide who gets the first turn OR choose the first stratagem out of the 4 available. If the choice to choose stratagem's first is taken Player 2 then gets to choose whom gets first or second turn.

Any questions just let me know.

Yay, I love this. Now to decide what to take...I think a themed list is in order for this one.

Man, look at all the fun stuff I miss out on due to uni. I've wanted to play in a proper Cities of death comp for ages.

I'm hoping that if it works out as awesomely as I hope that we can run another one, but this is something that i've wanted ever since cities of death came out.

If the rule do work I think we could do some funky things, like combat patrol and mix in the battle mission book as well for extra goodness.

*Your Command section is suddenly inundated by reports from forward scouts about the large cloud of thick, oily smoke and rhythmic clanking sounds that seem to be approaching through the ruined landscape*

Just so everyone knows, Gamma level games for cities of death are played on 4x4 tables, with lots of terrain. The most distance between any two terrain pieces should be 6" and with a min distance of 2" and at Gamma level you need about 6 cities of death sized terrain pieces plus whatever else (like roads, barriers ect), so be prepared to find tables that you will struggle to fit a land raider through without having to go dangerous terrain.

Might be a good excuse to paint those scouts and stern guard I've been thinking about. 3 events that day and 2 armies to paint/assemble for events I know I'm going to, 3 more armies I'm keen to start on.......

I'm a maybe, I guess.

I'm not playing Dark Eldar and I don't think Darren has been playing the Dark Eldar for a while, so thats two that you wont have to worry about and I'm not even sure if there are any other Dark Eldar players (besides, Dark Eldar arn't that hard to beat, just need to set targets properly and if your luky you can rip their back bone out in first couple of turns which has happened to me more then once).

It's about as close to an Infinity level of terrain that 40k gets (insofar as that amount of Swiss-cheese cover goes, anyway). It's still only about 40-50% of the table.

It's also the only level of CoD that I'll play. If you're playing in a city, it SHOULD be built up and hard for tanks to manoeuvre. Cities are deathtraps for tanks and playgrounds for snipers.
