On bases - Yes
Fully painted bases - No, although there is a painting point for having them fully done.

I actually like the way prizes are handed out at these events. Since it's held in the store, prizes aren't usually set in stone like most other events (no pre-determined box sets or anything). Also, due to not needing to hire out an alternate venue, insurance or anything like that, the money from the entry fees pretty much go straight back into prize support, so quite a few people usually walk away with something.

If you do place, Damien will usually give you a prize value up to a certain amount, which is essentially store credit. You're free to use it on anything in the store, and you can even spend some extra cash on top of the prize value to get something bigger if you want.

ie, if you earn a $50 prize limit, you can either get anything up to $50, or if you wanted say, a $60 box set, you could put the $50 prize earning towards it and pay an extra $10 to get the box.

Just a quick question about mission 1,
it states that fast attack may be deployed up to 36" onto the board, but is there a minimum distance they must be deployed from enemy troops??, otherwise you have some cheesy git deploying 1" away from you?

The attacker doesn't deploy anything on the board - all of the attackers units that aren't placed in reserve will move on during the first turn like they do in normal dawn of war missions.

Keep in mind though that whilst the defender can deploy FA units up to 36" onto the table, if you do deploy that far onto the table, you'll probably be quite vulnerable to rapid fire and possible assault on the first turn from faster/fleet units.
