Army Lists

Army lists are not to exceed 1750 pts
All current official Codexes, FAQs and White Dwarf rules supplements may be used
Imperial Armour units that have published rules with the "Warhammer 40,000" stamp may be used (not units with the "Apocalypse" stamp)
Army lists must be submitted by 23 February 2013

Tournament Scoring

Players will be ranked by number of game wins, with count-back on bonus points. Bonus points may be scored each game (one point for each of the following):
- All enemy units are destroyed, falling back or in Reserve at the end of the game (Purge the Alien mission)
- You control or contest all Primary Objectives (all other missions)
- Less than half of your units are destroyed, falling back or in Reserve at the end of the game
- You achieved all three Secondary Objectives
- You won the game by a margin of 4 VP or more
- The game was a draw, or you lost by a margin of 3 VP or less

Terrain and Fortifications

There will be no Lethal or Mysterious terrain. Fortifications should be placed without moving terrain if possible. If terrain must be moved to allow Fortifications to be placed then both players must agree to the movement.

Missions

The three standard Secondary Objectives will be used in all missions. Mysterious Objectives will not be used in any mission.

Round 1 - Dawn of War - Crusade
Round 2 - Hammer and Anvil - Purge the Alien
Round 3 - Dawn of War - The Relic
Round 4 - Vanguard Strike - Big Guns Never Tire

Time Limit

A time limit of 2 hours 15 minutes per game will be strictly enforced. Players must not start a new game turn once the 15 minute warning has been announced.

Painting

All models are to be fully assembled, appropriately based and WYSIWYG compliant. Scratch-built and heavily converted models may be used on the condition that they closely resemble (in size and shape) the official model they are intended to represent.

The use of painted models is not mandatory, but is strongly encouraged. Players that field a fully painted army (including any Fortifications) will be eligible for extra prizes.

Sportsmanship

All players are expected to treat their opponents with courtesy and respect. Any instances of cheating, intentional slow-playing or offensive behaviour witnessed by, or reported to, the TO will result in the offending player being penalised. In extreme cases this could include disqualification from the tournament.

Prizes

First, second and third placing players will each receive a prize. Additional prizes will be randomly awarded amongst players that fielded a fully painted army. No individual player will be awarded more than one prize. The total number and value of prizes will depend on the number of players that participate in the tournament.

So I'm gonna start planning this soon. Here are a few options:

1. One day, three or four rounds
2. Two days, six rounds
3. 1750 pts or 1850 pts

If we just do a one day event it will use the usual Swiss Pairing format. But if we do a two day event we could try something different, like using day one for seeding Elimination Brackets on day two.

For those who are likely to attend, what are your thoughts / preferences?

Probably 1 day! There are already quite a few 2 dayers! 1 day 4 rounds 1750 is very doable I think, we smashed 3 games at GN championship at 1850 and were done by like 4

There is only one two dayer in the first half of the year, Dauthus.

Four rounds of 1750 pts in a day is certainly achievable.

2 dayers are a much bigger commitment, you have to consider that alot of people do terracon which admittedly is a few months later but it's still a much bigger ask to get numerous 2 day weekends! I think a 4 round day is very achievable and will not be that dig to 5 in 2 days

2 dayers:
Dauthus FEB
Terracon JUN
Heresy (if it returns) JUL
Mech AUG

1 day 4 games. 1850.

EDIT: Napier please remove the douchey part of your sig.
Feel free to put it back after I clean up at Dauthus.
But for now I feel its unnecessary, plus it kinda hurts my feelings.

I think Heresy is changing to a one dayer. There is an opportunity for a second two dayer in the first half of the year but I realise that it's harder for some players to get the extra day off, hence why I'm trying to gauge interest and availability. If there isn't a popular desire for a two dayer then the default option is one day, four rounds, 1750 pts or 1850 pts. I prefer 1850 pts, but don't mind running 1750 pts if that is more popular.

Unless I get strong objections today, I'll be submitting a tournament proposal to the club committee for a one day, four round, 1750 pts event. So if anyone really wants something different you'd better speak now!

Nothing is stopping you from playing 1713 pts Id suggest testing your 1713 pt list at dauthus that way you only need 1 list for both
