  • 17:15-17:30 - Packup and Awards Ceremony
What to bring:
  • Warscrolls, Battalions and rulebooks required for your army
  • Generals Handbook
  • 2 copies of your army list
  • Dice
  • Tape Measure
  • Objective markers
  • Pen and paper
Tournament Format:
Southern Impact will be using rules for Matched Play from the General’s Handbook.
Armies are selected from the Matched Play pitched battle profiles using the Batltehost force selection with a maximum of 2000 points.
Only Warscrolls and Warscroll Battalions with Pitched Battle profiles will be included in the event.
The latest warscroll must be used. You cannot use for example, the High Elf Swordmasters warscroll instead of the Swordmasters warscroll from Grand Alliance: Order.
All models must be played WYSIWYG. Conversions are absolutely allowed and are encouraged.
For example, you could not use Black Knights as Tomb Kings Skeleton Horsemen straight out of the box. You could however convert some awesome Egyptian looking Black Knights and use those as Skeleton Horsemen if you so desired.
3rd party miniatures are allowed as long as they are a fair representation of the model being replaced

Secondary Objectives
Each game will have you and your opponent select a secondary mission that your force is looking to achieve. You will have access to 4 Secondary Objectives for the event, 3 of which will be used during the tournament with one left over. You can only use each secondary objective once.
After deployment has occurred, but before the decision of who goes first in the first battle round, both players must select the Secondary objective they will use for the battle out of their remaining secondary objectives. After both players have selected a Secondary Objective, they are both revealed simultaneously.
Secondary Objectives are important as they are the primary tie-breaker at the end of the tournament.
Objective 1 - Slay the Tyrant
The enemy general must be slain by the end of the battle to complete this objective.
Objective 2 - Headhunter
At the end of the game, you must have slain more enemy heroes than the enemy has yours to complete this objective.
Objective 3 - Breakthrough
One unit must move off an enemy's board edge during your movement phase to complete this objective. Only units that deployed on the table at the beginning of the battle may complete this objective.
Objective 4 - Seize Territory
Have more of your own units than enemy units inside your opponent's territory at the end of the game to complete this objective. A unit is inside a territory as long as majority of the models in the unit are in that territory. In the case an even split, it counts as being in neither territory.

House Rules:
All measuring will be done from base to base, regardless of whether they are based on square or round bases.
All terrain starting on the board will either be mysterious or only provide cover and will not use warscroll rules. Discuss with your opponent which pieces you feel are appropriate for mysterious terrain (Most pieces should be, but you may wish to have rocky formations, etc not count towards anything). Any terrain bought as battalion warscrolls, allegiance abilities, summoned, etc will use the full warscroll rules for that terrain piece.
Daemon banners wil be played as : First apply the effect of the banner (adding models to the unit up to the unit maximum), then apply the results of any battleshock casualties.

Matchups and Scoring:
All rounds will be matched up based on the following criteria:
  1. Current Score
  2. Secondary Objectives claimed
  3. Enemy slain
  4. Grand Alliance
  5. Faction

Clubs and Grand Alliances
To break ties in matchups, where possible we will try to avoid matching up club mates, regular opponents or armies from the same grand alliance. The first round will exclude clubs.

Match Scoring
You will automatically achieve a set number of points based on how well your army did during the match.
Major Victory - 15 points
Minor Victory - 12 points
Draw - 6 points
Minor Loss - 3 points
Major Loss - 1 point

Enemies Slain
Please tally up the value of the opponents killed during each game. This will become your Enemies Slain score, and used for tie breaking during the event.

Painting Score
Your army will receive a painting score based on the following criteria
  • At least half your army is painted to 3 colours minimum
  • Your entire army is painted to 3 colours minimum
  • Your entire army has highlighting/shading
  • Your entire army is based
  • Your army has conversions
  • Your army has a painted centrepiece model with highlighting/shading and basing
  • You have bought a painted display board
  • Your army has an accompanying theme or backstory (More than just being part of the same sub-faction). You should be able to give a brief outline of your army to gain this point.
Each of the above will gain you a single painting point up to a maximum of 5 points. At the end of the tournament, you will gain this number of points for each round of the tournament.

Composition and Sportsmanship
There will be no composition score that will be added to your final total in the event. Each player will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite player at the event. This may be because they gave you the best game of the day, or have a really awesome army. The judgement is up to you. This will be used to determine the Player's Choice award as well as for tie breaking your final score.

Glorious Prizes
Ideally (but not confirmed) at least the following prizes will be available:
First Place
Player’s Choice
Second Place
TO's Choice
Best in Alliance (Order, Chaos, Death, Destruction)
Confirmation of eligible prizes will be added based on final numbers the Thursday before the event.

Overall Place
Your final score for the tournament is calculated as follows:
Battle 1 + Battle 2 + Battle 3 + 3*Painting = Final Score
In the event of ties, tie breaking will be done as follows:
Total Score
Secondary Objectives claimed
Favourite Opponent Votes
Enemies Slain
Strength of Schedule

Note: Strength of Schedule is so lowly rated in this case due to the fact the event only has 3 rounds. A good player could get randomly matched up in the first round with someone who does poorly in the event, and it basically comes down to luck that they got that.

Players Choice
Players Choice award is also available on the day, based on favourite opponent votes.

Tie breaking will be done as follows:
Favourite Opponent votes
Painting score (uncapped)
Army has a backstory
Best battlecry (Yes, if it gets this far, each tied player must on the spot come up with a battle cry, chant, etc that embodies their army and the remaining players will vote who they think should win based on the cry. Example cries: WAAAAGGHHH!, Who shall prevail! Only the Faithful!)

Updates:
2017-07-12 - Re-named VPs Earned to Enemies Slain. Added information about 3rd party models. Added information about Daemonic banner ruling. Clarified match up process.

Less than 1 week out now, and we're getting a good number of participants signed up. If you're on the fence, just do it! It's sure to be a great day of Age of Sigmar gaming.

Hey, Made a payment on Thursday via EFT.

My bank is showing successful and has my name in the description. The description may have fell off in the payment line, and I might be the unknown other wise payment should land today.

Have a rule question that came up in a game with another player.

My opponent had a unit of 20 PlagueBearers, and I killed 16 of them. When taking a battleshock test my opponent rolled a 1. They then stated that because of the banner they did not suffer casualties from the battleshock as the banner prevented this from happening, and that everyone played it this way.

The way I play the banner is that if you roll a 1, you suffer any battleshock casualties, then add models to the unit from the one, but I can see an argument for adding first, and then suffering casulties.

Wording for banner in plaguebearers is:

"If you roll a 1 when making a battleshock test for a unit that includes any Icon Bearers, reality blinks and the daemonic horde is bolstered. Add D6 Plaguebearers to the unit."

Can we get a ruling on this to prevent any issues at the tournament.

So, they definitely take casualties from battleshock. No doubt about that, but the Order things happen is not really spelt out in the rules in this case.

I think we'll play it as : Add models to the unit first, then remove any due to battleshock losses. This seems like the simplest resolution that can be applied consistently.

If we went RAW, I think it would be the Players whose turn gets to choose, but I think that could get very messy and inconsistent. So prefer to just make a ruling.
