Outpost 40k Rampage 28th May 2011
Players Pack Tournament Organiser and Contact Details Daniel Dubach Mobile: 0419 573 370 Email: outpostgamingclub@gmail.com Forum Username: Dreadlord Vharesh (on Outpost and Outpost on WargamerAU forums) Venue Location Beaconsfield Community Centre O'Neil St, Beaconsfield. Melways ref: 214 B1 Schedule 0800 – 0900 registration 0915 – 1100 – game 1 1115 – 1300 – game 2 1300 - 1330 Player’s choice voting/Lunch 1345 – 1530 – game 3 1545 – 1730 – game 4 1800 – presentations Things You Need To Bring With You: BRING IT!!!!!!! Any gaming material that you require to play, including: • At least one copy of your army roster that is easily legible and correct. Using the sheet provided. • Copies of the reference materials used to design the army list (e.g. Army Books, Chapter Approved, White Dwarf articles etc). • Rulebook • Sufficient dice • Tape or other measuring device • Pen/pencil • Templates • Glue and/or super glue for those emergency repairs Army Lists Armies will be 1666pts in size, no larger! Army Lists are to be submitted by the 25th of May, which is a Monday. Lists can be sent to my email or PMed to me (email above) They should be presented in an easily read form. Army lists allowed are to include army lists from a current Codex released in Australia. If no such army book exists, use a work-in progress list from either the Warhammer 40k Chapter Approved or White Dwarf; if released in Australia at least 30 days before the tournament. Any ‘official rules’ articles/updates to an army (in either White Dwarf or the Warhammer 40k Chapter Approved) may be used; if released in Australia at least 30 days before the tournament. You may not use things that require opponent’s permission to use. Tournament Special Rules Warhammer 40k 5th Edition ruleset. All models used must be of the appropriate size and type for the troops they represent. For the benefit of all players, ‘What You See Is What You Get’ WYSIWYG will be enforced. If players have any doubts about how accurately a miniature represents a troop type, they should consult with the Tournament Organizers prior to the tournament. This is a loose WYSIWYG, but there will be no grots posing as terminators or the like, if the miniature is a reasonable depiction of what it represents then it will be allowed, as long as there is no obvious deception with the way it works. An example would be using a flamer to represent a melta gun. This will be ok as long as you don’t have other flamers running as different weapons or even flamers. The proxy will have to stick out so that your opponent knows it is a proxy. Once again on this issue consult with tournament organizers if you have any doubts. Draw First round draw will be random. Subsequent rounds will be seeded using the ‘Swiss Chess’ system. You will never play the same player twice. If possible, we will try to avoid matching regular opponents in the first two rounds. Scoring System Battle: 24pts (up to 6 per round) Sports: 16pts (up to 4 per round) Presentation: 8pts Composition: 8pts Battle You will score points based on the results of the match: Scenario Win: 6 Draw: 3 Loss: 1 Sportsmanship The intention behind sportsmanship is to encourage players to behave in a way that makes the event and games an enjoyable day for all involved. At the end of the game you will judge how good a sport your opponent was between 0-4. Things you may take into consideration: • Was your opponent organised? Did they have their own gaming supplies (e.g. dice, rules, tape measure, templates etc). Did they play briskly and efficiently, with little time wasting. • Was your game played without rule discrepancies? There were either no rule discrepancies, or any discrepancies that you had were worked out in a mutually acceptable fashion (asking a Tournament Official for adjudication when you both have a difference is also a fair way of resolving differences). • Did your opponent consistently play in a clear and accurate manner? They did not use a rubber ruler. They were clear in their actions on the battlefield – declaring their intentions, informing you when they were using specific items, etc. • Did your opponent consistently maintain a positive attitude throughout the course of the game? When they winning they did not gloat, and when they were losing they did not lose their temper or get disheartened. Cheating Zero Tolerance – Cheating, Chipmunking, Sniping This is a game played for fun so there is no place for this behaviour. Anyone found guilty of cheating in the tourney will be removed from the premises. Chipmunking: While all players judged components may work quite well, it is susceptible to abuse, such as deliberately marking down or deliberately marking up opponents to gain an unseen advantage. This is commonly referred to as "Chipmunking" or "Sniping" in the broader gaming community. Anyone suspected or caught in the act will most likely be dismissed out of the tourney, as it is a very unpleasant thing to be doing. So in short, be honest, and be fair. Other Tournament Organisers will also be notified and the player in question will be "black listed" from future Outpost tournaments. Army Composition The intent of any composition system is surely to encourage players to take armies that their opponents will find a challenge but are not over the top. Army Composition is scored in two ways: • Getting your lists in correctly and on time (4 points) • 4 points judged by panel of judges Theme: Theme will be taken into account if submitted with list, however don’t make it more than a page long as we are lazy and have a lot of lists to mark. With painting put a small description with the army during player’s choice voting so judges can identify the theme applied to the miniatures. Using an illegal list or one different from that submitted: Illegal lists if found will have to be modified and points penalties incurred, however if you deliberately tried to get away with it you will be accused of cheating (see above). The organisers will assign appropriate penalties, which may be lessened if they have missed the error in your list when it was submitted. Things to will be looked for when marking composition: • What are the list’s weaknesses and strengths? What is the army’s strengths and do its drawbacks balance out the strengths so that it can be dealt with. • Is the army themed? Is the army designed to look like a specific style, depict a certain type of force, etc. This should not be an excuse for an unbalanced list though. • Are the characters over-powered? Has the person abused their ability to upgrade their characters or selection. Have they made them into a next to unstoppable killing machine or taken multiple characters just for special abilities to increase his armies strengths. • How have units been chosen? Have units been picked to provide a nice uniform army that provides a good force when in sync or have the most powerful units been picked and taken to slaughter all that come against them without support. Army Presentation You must have a painted army (3 colour minimum) to attend Rampage. Presentation points are judged in the following way: • 0-8 points Marked by a panel of judges during players choice voting, if you don’t set your army up and leave your name tag with your army during this stage you will get zero for this category. Things that will be considered but not limited to: • Amount of army fully painted (ie. Is the entire army painted) • 3 colours, based (this is the expected standard • Extra effort (lining, shading, more than just sand or flock base, etc.) • Characters stand out. • How units can be told apart • Conversions Scorecards You will be given a results score-sheet to fill out for each game. Please ensure the score-card is filled out correctly and that both players have signed off on the results, and then bring it to Tournament Organiser's desk. Points may be penalised for incorrectly filled out sheets. Prizes & Awards No player can win more than one category. The winning categories: • First Overall - The highest combined score of all categories.(Ties decided by Victory points, Sportsmanship & Composition and then Army Presentation.) •Second Overall •Third Overall Genesis Award – to the highest placed under 18 • Best Army (players choice) – determined by players choice votes during lunch, ties will be decided by composition, sportsmanship and then battle. • Best Sports – The highest Sportsmanship score. Ties decided by Composition, Battle and then Army Presentation. • Wooden Spoon – for that person whose day just didn’t go well! Club Challenge This is the chance for clubs to win bragging rights (and/or to disgrace Outpost...). To represent a club you must be a currently paid up member of your club. A club counts as any group of players that meets regularly and is accepting new members into its community. The best club will be decided by taking the 3 best players, adding there score together and then averaging it. If a club has less than three players the missing players will count as having scored zero and the combined score of the players will still be divided by 3. Disclaimer All tournament players will be responsible for their own transportation, storage and due care of their own personages, figures and materials on the day. Registered - 60 places max. 1-Pat Boehme (dark angels) 2-Paul Witterick (Dark Eldar) 3-Simon Harmann (Chaos) 4-Mitchel van Horseen (Eldar) 5-Chris Marshal (???) 6-Tony Marshal (Grey Knights) 7-Matt Edwards (Space Marines) 8-Colin Nichols (Blood Angels) 9-Jo Bellavance (Space Marines) 10-Floyd (Nids) 11-Erica Robinson (Sisters) 12-Leigh Ormsby (???) 13-Ben Nash (Space Wolves) 14-Kyle Mackenzie (Space Marines) 15-Richard Wood (Blood Angels) 16-Wayne Bracegirdle (IG) 17-Leigh Calahan (Chaos) 18-Chris Bellavance (Chaos) 19-Ash Robson (Grey Knights) 20-Paul gregory (Marines probably) 21-Daniel Gregory (Orks likely) 22-Lachie (Chaos) 23-Ryland Hodgson - probably Tyranids 24-David Moore - probably Daemonhunters 25-Curtis Hodgson - most likely WitchHunters, Imperial Guard or both 26-Duc (Grey Knights) 27-Golden Tickit (Conquest) 28-Wayne Hughes 29-Tim Huggins 30-Scott Shannon Chaos 31-Ken Rolland - Black Templars 32-Leigh Gartlan 33-Jon-Paul Adams- Probably Blood Angels 34-MArkHopper - Chaos Nurgle This post has been edited by dreadlordvharesh: May 5 2011, 10:33 PM |

Coming
Ryland Hodgson - probably Tyranids David Moore - probably Daemonhunters Curtis Hodgson - most likely WitchHunters, Imperial Guard or both -------------------- Because of the beast. They say it's as big as four cats, and it's got a retractable leg so as it can leap up at you better and you know what, it lights up at night, and it's got four ears. Two of them are for listening and the other two are kind of back-up ears, and it's claws are as big as cups and for some reason it's got a tremendous fear of stamps. It's got magnets on it's tail so's if you're made out of metal it can attach itself to you, and instead of a mouth it's got four arses. And some of his ears are on the inside of his head, and when he yawns it sounds like Liam Neeson chasing a load of hens around inside a barrel.

I wish people would stop blaspheming comparing Lemmy Kilmister to God. He might be a decent chap, but he certainly isn't Lemmy. Like it DOGgy style? http://www.facebook.com/pages/DOG/104588942947750 |
