Oddly enough, I think that Jimbo wasn't lamenting marauders for a change.

Glad to see you taking a more positive view on the book, hopefully see you at a table sometime soon. If you give them a run, please post up a battle report so we can see how your estimations of a unit compared to how they went. (Always a good metric)

WFB: Bretonnians, Ogre Kingdoms, Chaos Dwarfs
WMH: Protectorate of Menoth
T9A: Ogre Khans, Kingdoms of Equitaine, Infernal Dwarfs, Clown Dynasties

It is pretty clear in your mind the book will be a piece of #### no matter what happens.

Wow, 9th age just seems like gobbledygook.

I must go read the rules and get a handle on it.

It is it's own game now. If you played 8th things will make sense once you read the book, but it is not Warhammer anymore.

I know, who would have thought that a fanfic ruleset written by a bunch of tournament-focused competitive gamers with no professional experience who are trying to steal someone else's ideas and rewrite them would turn out to a mess of inconsistencies, unpopular balance decisions and so on?

The best part about AoS was that it cleaned out the WFB scene of all these immature manbabies.

There were 8 whole editions of the game already complete, but no, everyone thought 'how hard can this game design malarky be? We'll just do it ourselves, and it will be better!'

What have the Romans ever done for us?

And they were right, it is better, than all 8 of those editions. In every measurable way.

It is even more popular than AoS in its own backyard. It really has to sting you knowing a free game is not only better but more popular than AoS. That a game written by nerds around the world is better than one a company, who has been doing it for 30 odd years, can produce.

It is a good thing that somehow GW has fanatical supporters that still fork out $250 for some model. Well I guess they have to, because it will be more powerful than the $250 model that was released last month.

Being a keyboard warrior must be a full time occupation.

We had a 9th event a few weeks ago in vic, shoulda came and seen first hand how much better the game is. Also would have loved to meet you personally and see if you were as much of a Fu%kw!t in real life as you are on here.

Why don't you stick to your dead AoS forum and leave us be. Jimbo is enough of a downer for us all.

I really don't know how many times I have to say it, but I don't play AoS.

The fact that you can only comprehend my combination of amusement and mild contempt for the 9A project as some sort of sour AoS fanboy says, frankly, more about you than me.

Maybe I'm just a critic of petulant, plagiarising, mediocre wargames, of which the world has its fair share.

Given how phenomenally well GW has been performing, both artistically and economically, since killing WFB, apparently there must be a whole lot of fanboys willing to fork out $250 a model (but then, they are legitimately the highest quality wargaming models on the market). I'm not one of them, but hey, feel free to project otherwise if it helps protect your apparently fragile sense of self smile.gif

Nah, I'm only an amateur. I'm hoping to get drafted to the big leagues someday though.

Mierce Minitures and Creature Comfort are both better than Games Workshop. The latter also being much, much cheaper. Those are only for larger models too, the Avatars of War Dwarfs / WotDG are better, MoM Miniatures, Norba Miniatures....are all at least equal and considerably cheaper.

You might be right...if GW didn't take away anything that could have been plagiarised. There are no space marines in T9A, no Orruks or whatever stupid names they have now. There isn't even Weapon Skill, Ballistic Skill or what have you anymore.

You don't play T9A either. Why don't you just stick to whatever petulent, mediocre games you play. Or are you one of those people that has to kick over other peoples sand castles because you ran out of sand to play with?

Having worked with models from most of those companies, I can say with confidence they do not compare with the quality of manufacture and ease of use that GW offers.

You can prefer them aesthetically though, that's fine. But I'm not talking what looks best, since that's obviously subjective.

What can I say, this is just a target rich environment.

Entirely unnecessary and vulgar language there. This is supposed to be a family friendly forum, and you've clearly learned nothing from our leniency prior to Cancon. Take a fortnight off.
