Bretonnia Lance question Options

Hi all

Just a question about the lance, how does it work not?
does it work that same as in the army book that each knight on the flanks get to attack or is it evert knight can attack because of the supporting attacks rule from 8th ed.

This is what the FAQ has on it.

I under stand the first one, it works the same

“As a result, the knights
shaded darker grey can attack as if they were in base contact
with the enemy (all of their attacks, including mounts). The
light grey knight in the second rank can make a supporting
attack. The light grey knight in the third rank (and fourth and
so on…) cannot attack at all.”


But this one im not sure about

Add “Supporting attacks for models in the centre of the
formation are made normally.” to the second paragraph.

the ones down the flank can fight because of the army book rules, and the ones in the middle in the second rank can fight from supporting attack rules in the rule book, if they were 10 wide ones in the third rank could also fight

Would only have to be 6 wide to count as horde, brets only need 3 models for a rank

So the rule still say you have to be 10 wide if you a horse they don't say double what you need to get a rank.

This is correct. As soon as you cease to be 3 models wide, you are no longer in Lance formation. This means you can get ranks when you are 3 wide (Lance) or 5 wide (regular rules), and if you want Horde formation you need to go 10 wide.

In Bretts that would be too expensive. BUT in O&G it could be very funny. Savage orc Boar boys, 10 wide with 10 goblin heroes and 5-10 orc bosses.. Just for the fun of S5 mounts and tonnes of attacks, plus ITP..
