Some interesting news on our preparations for our annual Open Day Wargaming Event.

First of all, Little Wars is expanding to Adelaide:

LITTLE WARS ADELAIDE will be held at Goodwood Community Centre, on July 12 2014. The organiser, Alan has done a great job of getting LWA off the ground, and is already organising potential games and traders. If you'd like to get involved, helping out with games or organising things, or even just coming along on the day, please feel free to contact Alan - known as dagorlad on wargamerau.

LITTLE WARS MELBOURNE is a go for 2014. We are currently trying to decide between two venues for our Open Day to be held in early June. Both venues retain a large capacity for tables, are close to public transport, and have ample parking.

Kingston City Hall is located in Moorabbin, and is right next to Moorabbin Train Station.

Kingston Town Hall

Collingwood Town Hall is a much more central location, is right next to Collingwood Train Station, and across the road from Arcanacon's Collingwood College. It is currently undergoing refurbishment, but is available for booking in May/June 2014.

Collingwood Town Hall

We have been trying to canvass the thoughts/views of Little Wars Melbourne attendees and gamemasters as to which venue they'd prefer. So far, results indicate that people don't care where it is – as long as we put it on! Feel free to post/reply your thoughts.

As always, our approach to Little Wars Melbourne and Little Wars Adelaide is all about bringing the wargaming community together. We would love to hear from gamers interested in putting on fun games to share with others on the day.

If you'd be interested in coming along to play, or to put a game on, please contact Nic at nicr@eurekamin.com.au (Melbourne) or Alan/Dagorlad on wargamerau (Adelaide)

For further details on both events, please visit our webpage:

we'll be updating info on there as it comes to hand.

What he said ^^

The Adelaide show is fast on track to be a big success - the interest it's generated so far has been nothing short of astounding. And I'm not given to exaggeration either (having been described as a 'dour bloke').

I can confirm that Eureka Miniatures and Military Hobbies will be there. Plus six other traders have expressed interest in attending. The number of games being promised has already surpassed how many we had at the Bugle Call a few years back.

It's looking like it's going to be big.

More news as it comes to hand.
