Hello everyone!

You know the drill. Post your questions and have them answered!

QUOTE
Q: Do you count drop pods as shoot through with cover save or solid Tloss blocking?

A: Treat the pod as non LOS blocking. But allowing a 5+ intervening model cover save. (This cover save also applies to vehicles).

Serpent shields and D weapons .... reduces to a Glancing hit but does it continue to inflict D3 hull points?

A: Yes. After reading it again last year after making our decision we realised it works much better that way.

What if you can't see through the pod or (pods) with true line of sight?

here is a picture of a dude standing happily in front of a doorless drop pod.

IPB Image

You will notice his potential line of sight to the other side is precisely d*ck.There are, infact, three other dudes standing behind said pod.

Just sayin.

You make a good point. I answered the FAQ with the forethought of the doors being glued shut. (As some players would to avoid being shot at)

If the pod opens normally treat it as TLOS. Absolutely!

Love the mini too. And dat base! Will we be setting him at Heresy?

Nah. sorry. As much as I'd like to its at a bad time of year for me.

Actually, what really bothers me about the see-through drop pods is folks shooting through and using them as impassable cover with no real penalty just because they didn't want to model the interior. A regular 32mm miniature can't see (for the most part)through a drop pod, doors or not.

Not having a go at folks for (quite fairly) not wanting to paint all that stuff on the inside, or having to deal with the awkwardness that are the doors.

That would depend on the mounting of the weapon. Hull mounted is 45deg, one would assume it's a 3D angle. Left, right, up and down.

Caestus Assault Ram says it can transport models with Terminator, Power Armour and Scout armour ignoring the bulky special rule... if a model doesnot have a listed armoured like a Centurion and/or Wulfen, can i still board it?

Or do we say insteadit can transport 10 models ignoring the bulky special rule?

What book are these rules from? Just so I can see the wording myself.

I'm waiting to see when the FAQ's become final versions if it changes.

That's a great question, I don't have the book personally (Nids as my main army obviously). I reckon we can use the updated rules, but skip the dog fighting phase, enough Phases in the game as it is.

This answer isn't final though, I would like to talk to people who know more about it!

What do you think?

Can we use the Y'varha and R'varna Riptides in a farsight enclaves list or strictly only in a tau codex list? Have emailed Forgeworld and waiting a reply (however long that may take). Just want to know so I can practice with a potential list

Agreed here. Also take out the Agility rules... people are confused enough but do allow Fighter Ace if they wish to spend points upgrading. Formations and Attack Patterns are fine
