EDIT: My labelling of the pics went skewif.... but you should know what they are by looking!!
Here is a link to my photobucket with the rest of the WIP necromunda stuff in it (and some old IG)... http://s572.photobucket.com/albums/ss164/S...pawnAU/?start=0 So, being sick and tired of the way that warhammer in australia has become a competative sport, I have decided that its time to get back to the stuff I love... that is to say games that are FUN and not some kind of competition. That means the two best games that GW have ever produced... Necromunda and Bloodbowl. (To be honest, I'll be back to warhammer in a month or so... so a year is a bit much!!) So my first port of call was Necromunda. If you have never played this game, you really should download the rulebook (available free from GW site!) and build a gang (a box of catachans + either flagellants, militia or marauders makes a gang for cheap!). Goliath with Shotguns... I made these guys out of marauders + catachan sprues, plus shotguns from the space marine scouts box. ![]() ![]() ![]() Goliath heavy with a heavy bolter... ![]() ![]() Goliaths with autopistols (I am making the autopistols myself): ![]() ![]() Goliath Leader (I use plasticard for the basis of the mohawks): ![]() ![]() Ratskin gang (painting in progress): ![]() The entire table of modular terrian is next to come! Pics up Soon This post has been edited by Sithspawn: Oct 27 2010, 09:18 PM -------------------- Anything but Warhammer (Necromunda, Malifaux, Bloodbowl etc) modelling and painting diary: http://www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102580

And some final shots of the terrain bits for tonight:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (The crates I got from a model train company... they are perfect chest height for 28mm models - so sensational for necromunda!) So... coming up:
Delaques (Mix of heresy miniatures and GW) Finishing the paint on the Ratskins. Orlocks (Simple conversions of empire militia + catachans) Redemptionists (Catachan arms + empire flagellants) Much More Terrain (You might have seen some of my textrured floor sections above in the pic with all the corner pieces). EDIT: I used "Army Painter: Strong Tone: to do all of the shading on the terrain. I would NEVER EVER NEVER use this stuff on miniatures aside from terrain. Will put up a review of this stuff soon. That means the two best games that GW have ever produced... Necromunda and Bloodbowl. Mordheim is the best game GW has ever produced... closely followed by Blood Bowl and Necro I've been trying to find motivation to paint up my Genestealer Hybrid models for a Necro gang (to be used as Goliaths), and this has left me feeling a little inspired, so thanks! That terrain is looking awesome too. -------------------- |

Spacehulk is a pretty cool game made by GW.
Necromunda has a highly enjoyable background and style to it. Terrain is lookin good so far. |

The terrain you've made there looks very simple yet effective. If I get about making some necro terrain, that's some great inspiration.

I hear ya about the 40k thing. I went back to Necro about 2 years ago
Still have the 40k, but the Necro is a great. You are proficient at using plasticard. All that plasticard must be costing you a bundle... Where did you get the Diamond plate plasticard from? Are the hair pieces on the goliaths just green stuff, or is there a sliver of plasticard underneath for the green stuff to adhere to? More pics of the ratskins This post has been edited by Cancer: Sep 12 2010, 09:40 AM -------------------- Once I get into your mind, its terminal.

QUOTE You are proficient at using plasticard. All that plasticard must be costing you a bundle... Yeah, cost isnt an issue. My main aim is that the entire table of terrain needs to fit inside a tiptopperoo (minisoft) case and is as durable as possible. Its practically indestructable. I estimate about $500+ to make the entire 4' x 4' table worth of terrain... but its going to look awesome. QUOTE Where did you get the Diamond plate plasticard from? Hobbyco. Its produced by "AMRI Architectural Scale Models". The stuff is horribly expensive, its $12.50 for an (approx) A5 size sheet. QUOTE Are the hair pieces on the goliaths just green stuff, or is there a sliver of plasticard underneath for the green stuff to adhere to? Yep, plasticard down the middle, then used that as a "support" to sculpt the greenstuff over the top of. You can see on the leader model that he doesnt have any greenstuff yet, just the plasticard. -------------------- Anything but Warhammer (Necromunda, Malifaux, Bloodbowl etc) modelling and painting diary: http://www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102580

This thread totally takes me back to when I first got into the hobby! Necro is fantastic and I had some great fun playing it! The models/terrain are looking great and I'm feeling more than a little inspired to dust off the old rule book (or at least download the new one), well done!
