Things are developing!

We are looking at holding this event on the Australia Day Weekend. Which day is yet to be confirmed. We have a venue all sorted and good to go at this stage. I am also happy to announce that our tables have just grown by 5 too to a total of 17 - 8x4s.

That will allow up to 60 odd gamers participate in this 1000 point event...... yip ya!

The date im planning on at this stage is about 22 or 23 Jan 2011.

Please start posting names here if interested. Am willing to consider 1250 points - number of players dependant.

If this goes well then expect an event every quarter in Townsville - increasing in points size each time building to 2k at the end of the year!!!

Rather than have the tournament at the barracks, have you thought about having it at the local gaming club? TCGA has been around for a couple of years and is Inc. (although no public liability insurance). We have a significant amount of terrain, plus club members can bring more - or the club can invest in some more gear if required. The club meets every Sunday at the Wulguru Community Centre and the hall is air conditioned, plus we sell drinks chips etc.
Whilst having a game on the barracks is easy for military (or exmilitary) members to access, you will find that it will limit some people to attend due to the additional security measures in place since 9/11. You also then dont have to worry about military commanders taking over the building at late notice and kicking you out.
Either way, just send us a reply as I would be happy to meet with you and show you what the club has to offer. Welcome to the Ville.

Id love to see Cairns gamers come down for this to have fun. If u havent read the rules pack yet please do!

For out of town fellas i think this event will be a lot smoother and simpler than you have experenced here in the viile in recent times.
