Hanging out with Asher, FatDamien and mousemuffins yesterday has made me finally decide to pull my thumb out of my pooper and get going on one of the many 40k armies I own that I have not completed. The candidate of choice is the Space Wolves, as I am in a viking mood today. To get started I thought I'd assemble some Wolf Guard to hang out with Njal on my painting bench. Did a bit of converting, some odd posing, and popped all of these guys onto resin bases. Pic of the primed models:

The plan is to get a 5th one together (thinking of a heavy weapon) and then try painting them differently from the norm, aiming for a dark grey ala the codex cover. I'll continue to update this thread as I make progress!

Thoughts and opinions appreciated!

double beds are kinda mandatory if you want deh ladeez to hang around. Nothing says cheap more than a grown man sleeping in a single bed, unless it's a single mattress on the floor. Because that says 'smack addict'.

The highlighting is good, but they need more shading...

Hey mate, it's Tamiya brand spray primer. I'm only using that on the bases going on resin models, for the rest I'm using one called Powercolor from Autobarn. It's a dark grey automotive primer.

Not much in the way of photography today. Mister Cyclone is done thought!

I've also started assembling a drop pod, my first pack of grey hunters and a vindicator for the army, which I'm hoping to have primed up tomorrow after work. I have decided to hold off on painting until my first 1500pts is assembled, rather than losing momentum on assembling and priming.

I like to think in that analogy Mousemuffins is the stately Emperor, FatDamien is the over talented prince everyone likes and I'm the evil vizier lurking behind the throne plotting their demise out of pure jelousy. tongue.gif

But yeah, we're going to work on our boy here until he starts producing stuff we approve of.

It's looking good so far! I dig the poses and will be interested to see what you do with the airbrush.

On the plus side though, you have a stable. And an East Wing.

And you're great to be inside on a cold night.
