hmmm.
http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=217962 http://art-of-tactic.com/cat/catalogue The figures are not so good, but the vehicles might be worth looking at. Zvezda non-wargaming scale kits are regarded very highly; it would be interesting to see the extent to which these might be 'simplified'. -------------------- |

Original post moved from News and Rumours.
There was a review of these models on Anton's Wargame Blog. I must admit to thinking about doing an Afrika Korps Panzerkompanie as a historical opposing force for my Australians. At about USD$5.00 per tank it would be a cheap and quick way to build a force. Although local stores carry Zvezda 1/72 scale miniatures I haven't seen any local stores stocking the Zvezda Art of Tactic range. Does anyone know if there is a local supplier? Thanks Mark C -------------------- Playing:

The vehicles are very nice, correctly sized, simple to build. The only shortfall is that it is difficult to fit a command figure as the turret hatches are all moulded on, closed. Being plastic they are much more crisp in line than those in resin by battlefront, and the lines are slightly less exchagerated
I have some of the 251/B, T26, PII, T34, and I've ordered some katyushkas (sp) that have just come out. All good early war tanks. (I'll toss a lead sinker or two in to weight them) In Aust I've seen them only in a non-sponsor store in Perth The Plastic Soldier Company tanks are similar but focus on the LW models. I've got the T34's and have seen the Pz IV's both are very nice, and the schurzen on the later are superior to BF's by the proverbial country mile. I may simly sell off my old BF box of them and replace it with the PSC ones.... and I used to be a BF fanboy... but lately too many of the BF sculpts for infantry are sub par. |

They are going for USD $18 for 5 on ebay at the moment. I'm looking at the Pz IIIs for my mid war German army.

The 251's are nicer than BF, but only come with 1 MG.
The Katies are actually 2 sprues, but very easy to assemble, I like The PIII's appear to be IIIJ (early), I haven't got any of them yet |

PSC updated their website with some news today. Halftracks June/July along with Shermans. http://theplasticsoldiercompany.co.uk/
I've received some PzIVs and done a review. Just waiting to host it tomorrow / Sunday. I like. A lot. About the only thing I'd want from Zvezda would be the Katys as I don't fancy the ballache of the BF ones. |

well that is interesting, the sherman I suspect will be a welded hull, with turret options, 76mm I suspect I wonder if they could get a firefly off the same kit?

That's the really interesting bit isn't it. I Hope they make it Brit/US and the firefly 17pdr would be real winner if included. I'm actually also keen that they don't put BF out of business! |

I don't think they could, all the supports and odd things will still have to be BF QUOTE Anyone know of a mailorder firm in OZ that does this range, especially PzII's ? I'm in the same boat, if someone started doing these AND plastic solder they would be on to a winner-------------------- Backslide Painting

No regular AUS stockists that I've found, though some hold the occasional stock, plenty of UK and evilbay sources, though they sell out fast

So are the pziii's any good? What versions are they? The Panzer III is the G model, which I believe was the most numerous variant in the war. In terms of Flames of War, many players might want to upgrade to a later variant for a pitifully few points. However, in terms of collecting an opposing force to my mid war Australians they are perfect. Regards Mark C -------------------- Playing:

I've ordered several of their aircraft kits from the UK. Will allow me to field trios of aircraft for UK, Aussie, US & German armies. Both ground attack and interceptor.
Am considering the USSR tanks to make up a force and to also bolster a captured T34 force for my eastern front panzer force. Am interested to see what the others here who have ordered them, think of the product. |
