Once upon a time, there were quarterly RPG (if not RPG/minis) conventions in Sydney. From Sydcon (which was at Easter back when), Saga, Necronomicon, and Macquariecon. Times changed, clubs folded, members graduated, and certain rp elements decided to bite the hand that feeds.

I remember the 80s and early 90s as still being rather productive. Still, it didn't have the competition from online games or computer games in general (and the godawful JRPG games).

I haven't been to an rpg event in Sydney since the mid 90s myself - didn't have the time for it anymore - or for the many back-of-hand-nailed-to-forehead-oh-angst-is-me sheeple.
