Hi
I've been looking after the 40K Rankings for 4 years now, but with a change in jobs I have less free time to keep track of what events are being run and when the results are published. As such, I would ask the following. TOs Before the event Make sure that your events are added to the RankingsHQ calendar. You can either add the details yourself or send me a PM with the details. Having the event in the calendar will help make the gaming community aware of it (ie potential players when its on and other TOs will know to avoid the date). The minimum details required are:
The listing on the calendar and the hosting of the players pack is free of charge. RankingsHQ also has an option to manage ticket sales for you, but they charge a fee per ticket sold via their site. I would also ask TOs to consider that on their entry form they consider adding a RankingsHQ id so that those players that know what their RHQ id is can let you know. After the event Can you either let me know when the results are available, or send me a copy of the results. The most convenient format for me is MS Excel, though I can deal with other formats. Ideally the results should include the army used by each player as well. Note that if you have defined the event in the RankingsHQ calendar, you have the option to upload the results yourself. Also note that if you use the Tournament Overlord software that RankingsHQ sells, that the results get automagically uploaded. Players If your TO has not listed the event in the RankingsHQ calendar, let them know that they can contact me and I will list it for them. Make sure that the TO's have the correct spelling of your name. You may be tempted to let it ride, but a lot of the time taken in prepping the data for uploading is looking for spelling variations in names. Spelling variations include shortened forms, such as Dave for David, Steve for Steven/Stephen. I would ask that you make sure that the TO uses the variation that you prefer. Check out RankingsHQ to see what is currently being used in the system, and if its not what you prefer (or your name is misspelt) let me know and I can fix it. Note that there are a few cases where different people have exactly the same name. We can tell them apart via their RHQ id. I would encourage players to register on RankingsHQ. It's free, and all it requires is an email addresss. If you have been to any events in the last 3 years you should be able to search for your name in the system and then register yourself. When you register for an event, you could also provide the TO with your RHQ id (which is just a number). Any questions about RankingsHQ or how to use it, please send me a PM. Hi all
I have been looking after the data for the 40K Tournament Rankings since 2007. Recently my interest in the GW hobby has waned, and pressures at work mean that I don't have the time to devote to it. As such I am looking to ease myself of the 40K Rankings. If someone is interested in taking it up, I am happy to provide assistance/support. Alternatively if someone is champing at the bit to completely take over, I am happy to bow out completely and let you run with it. What I have doing is: - watching the forums for announcement of upcoming events and putting them in the RankingsHQ calendar if the TO has not already done so. - ideally TOs email me the results, otherwise contact TO after event for results - run a cross check of names in MS Excel against existing player list to check for common variations of spelling (eg Dave vs David, Steve vs Stephen) or mis-spellings of names - sometimes have to track down which armies were used separately (eg post in event thread asking players to advise what they used) - upload the results to RankingsHQ - acting as a point of contact for players or TOs with questions about RankingsHQ You will need regular internet access and be comfortable using MS Excel (if you can copy and paste you're halfway there). If interested can you please contact me either via PM or email mark@gosfordgamers.net. Regards Mark C -------------------- Playing:
