Great work Paul as usual, wish I'd been up to playing on the 2nd day though sad.gif

I'd like to thank my opponents from the first day - I had three great games! Hope to see you all at future tourneys.

Thanks a bunch Paul. Best Pheno/Wintercon tourney yet and if it keeps expanding at this rate it will become one of the premier events in Oz. Well done. I must say I was especially surprised at best sports considering I probably had one of the 'cheesiest' armies there.

To my opponents, thanks for some especially memorable games. You can rest assured that my guard in its current mechanised form will now be retired for the next year or two while I bring a few other modelling projects to life and the tourney table!

Paul,

I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank you for running the 40K event at Wintercon this year. After having attended the last six years worth of Pheno/Wintercons I would have to say that this is definitely one of the best that you have run - undoubtedly this is due to the time and effort you put into the organisation of the event (a consistent theme throughout all 6 events that I have been to) and why the event has grown from a player base of less than 20 in 2006 to the 72 you had this year.

Unfortunately my unbroken run of attending your events will end with 2011, (not due to choice) as work will see me overseas for the next few, but hopefully you will still be in charge when I return.

Keep up the great work!

Cheers

Cheers for running an enjoyable and relaxed event Paul! armata_PDT_37.gif

One of the things that has brought me back to WH40K after a 14 year layoff is the relaxed attitude of the players (MOAB 2010, Stouthammer 2010 and now Wintercon) - so different from the super-serious Ancients scene! Thanks to all the players for creating that atmosphere on Saturday and Sunday... and thanks heaps to my opponents for 6 really fun games... no arguments, no headaches, no stress!

...and OMG! armata_PDT_05.gif what is going on... I managed to get 8th place (with what I thought to be a fairly soft army)... lucky dice must be to blame!

Cheers all... see you at MOAB!

I paid for Eddie Duncan, Stefan Duncan, Jimmie Srane, Domnic Protor and Edward Proctor via paypal to the CGS account on the Thursday before WinterCon.
You could have had a look before saying we have not paid on here or better still got off you chair on the Saturday and ask me face to face wouldn't that have been quicker?
If you want me to drive down to your club with the printout of the payment, let me know via here.

Darth Eddie.
Did you notice I said the following:
"I have no record of payment for the following people:"

"It is entirely possible you have paid."

I sent a minion to check lists on the day, he said everyone on our list was accounted for.
He forgot to check for names NOT on our list.
I knew about the $150.00 on paypal, but you have forgotten one slightly important thing.
You were NOT entered. You had never sent me an email saying you were playing using a name I can ID, you never received an email from me saying you had been entered. Also, we never received an email from Paypal saying you had paid. (We are looking into a few of these, but there was no pattern to the few missed emails)

Our online payment system was down for updating and retraining of the online system guru, hence the "Pay on day" or Paypal option. All anyone had to do was send me an email with their intent to play. (135 people managed this)

In any case, you have now confirmed payment for those players.

Thanks.

PS, I was also rather busy on Saturday, hence the use of minions.
