Now that I have the samples in hand, I can finally reveal the first player gift that every single attendee at Southern Shrike Bowl 2011 will receive. It is a customised SSB passing template, which has been designed by our resident painter/graphical designer extraordinaire Brett AKA Sinister Dexter. Here are a few pics of the passing template (click on them to get a bigger picture).

Next up for Player Gifts is Star Player cards of the 3 SSB MVP winners to date.

A very big thanks go to Mango for the card design and Peter Overton AKA Angora for the pictures.

Each SSB attendee will get a set of the 3 Star Player cards, one for each of the SSB MVP's to date. Here is what they look like (click on the picture to see a full size pic).

On a related note, from this year onward, the previous year's SSB MVP will be able to be taken as a Star Player choice by any team. So any team playing in SSB 2011 will be able to select Caliban as a Star Player!

Rest assured that these are not the only gifts that attendees at SSB 2011 will receive. There are more gifts to be revealed soon. wink.gif

Next up on the player gift give-away is a custom sculpted Dingo mini by Greebo Miniatures. Every single player will receive one of these Dingos just for attending SSB. Here is a look at the concept sketches.

This isn't quite what I envisage the final mini to look like. The ears are a little floppy and the pose I am after is the Dingo running with his arm outstretched about to stiff arm an opposition player. This should give you a good idea of what he will look like though.

But wait, there's more!!! For coaches that register before August 17th I'll throw in a set of steak knives. ;D

Just kidding. However, all coaches that register before August 17th will receive $20 in plaster product thanks to the generous sponsorship of Griffin Grove Gaming

For those of you that don't know, Griffin Grove Gaming now produce full-size and Street Bowl-sized pitches cast out of hydrostone along with dugout and stands. $20 is almost enough for a complete Street Bowl-sized pitch or will get you around half a full-sized pitch. Check them out here.

Alternatively, you could use spend your $20 on a Hirst Arts kit for a building or a couple of bridges. Or, simply get a few castings of a wide range of different molds. The choice is yours.

That's not all that Griffin Grove is providing though. The Best Custom Pitch at SSB 2011 will receive a complete, painted Street Bowl pitch and accompanying streetscape! Definitely a very cool prize from a very generous sponsor. I know we have had some good custom pitches in the past so it will be good to see if anyone else has come up with something for this year.

By my count that puts the Player Gift total at or above the cost of an early-bird ticket price, without taking prizes into account (and everyone will get a prize too!). That's not all for Player Gifts though. Check back in a couple of days to see what else there is to be revealed! armata_PDT_36.gif

The final player gift for all SSB attendees is a customised SSB dugout!

IPB Image

So, just to summarise, all Southern Shrike Bowl 2011 coaches will receive the following player gifts:
  • Customised Southern Shrike Bowl passing template
  • Customised Southern Shrike Bowl dugout
  • Southern Shrike Bowl Dingo miniature, sculpted by Greebo Miniatures
  • Set of Southern Shrike Bowl MVP cards
Additionally, if you pay before August 17th you will receive $20 in plaster product, courtesy of tournament sponsor Griffin Grove Gaming.

No matter how you look at it, that is an awesome amount of stuff, well worth the entry fee by itself. However, that's just the player gifts. Stay tuned for some of the awesome prizes on offer at SSB this year.
