----Saturday & Sunday---- Steam roller 2012 Cost: TBA Player limit: 50 Start time: 8:30 am Finish: 6:30 pm ----This event will be run in accordance with Steamroller 2012 and the Privateer Press Masters format---- List requirements: 3 x 50 point lists Saturday 4 games Time allocation: 100 mins Sunday finals! 2 games Time allocation: 100mins Have you considered running Accellerated time turns for this event? It would easily give us players room for a 5th round. 10minute turns, 5minute extention, 80minute rounds makes for a very intense gaming event! 8:30 rego, 9amstart -> Round#1 kick's off at 9:10am to 10:30am -> Round#2 kicks off at 10:50am to 12:20pm -> 40 minute lunch -> Round#3 13:10pm to 14:30 -> Round#4 14:50pm to 16:20pm -> Round#5 16:40 to 1800 With 30minutes wiggle room and 20minutes between each round for collecting scoring/nextdraw processed etc. Just a thought... -------------------- Attached - No Skarlock for you.

The idea of the faster rounds did cross my mind, but with the player numbers expected we will be running 6 rounds. So it would be a 5 game day 1 and a 1 game day 2 ... rather boring for the finalists and well a very hardcore day with 5 games of masters grade warmachine/hordes in one day. I know (well personally at least) 5 games in a day it stretching it.
Sharp suggestion though -------------------- Outpost Gaming Club

If I give my Feral Warpwolf Extreme a sword can I use it as a Warpwolf Stalker?

The ground shook from its excessive mass, the beast clawing at the entrance. In an instant the doors were open and the beast swarmed through. Just realised something I'd like to know.
I know the OP says 2012 SR, but it'll be kind of tricky to know what to be expecting if there are major changes to the pack that I'm guessing won't get released till not long before the tourney day. Any chance on a heads up about this? Oh also is Masters format just different in the 'must have 3 lists/play each at least once' way compared to baseline? |

The only compulsory part of the current Masters format is three lists (each must be used at least once).
The US Masters events added an optional rule (characters may not be duplicated across lists) - unless Matt announces that this rule is being used at Arc, I wouldn't assume that it will be there. Personally, I really like it though Unfortunately, the only people who know anything about SR2012 have all signed non-disclosure agreements - I'm not sure if any of the current playtesters are in Australia, either. Privateer know that there are several events running during January (some large US tournaments run 1-2 weeks in), and should have SR2012 ready for release by the start of January. We'll all be equally in the dark, in regards to what it does differently to SR2011... -------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. Thanks for covering that one Ben, There will be no character restrictions unless the SR2012 announces otherwise. As Ben said PP are keeping SR2012 rather close to their chest though from the rumor mill it dosen't sound like we are going to be getting any "major" over hauls (but again that's not FACT)
@GGMatazas - I wouldn't see why not, but it has to be a massive sword and as awesome as the extreme warpwolf @Skell - The reason we have the late start for the Unbound is so that the guys who play in the final can play some relaxing and fun games afterwards .... sure it might only be one more game but what a game! -------------------- Outpost Gaming Club

Are you able to take pre-registration payments this year?

saturday + sunday (unless 40k gets more interesting) -------------------- QUOTE I like to tell a little story about the last man who was in a sword fight with Caine. During the fight he was heard commenting on how crappy a blade it was, old and busted, not cared for, and on and on. Finally he asked Caine what its name was. Caine grinned and said "Sword." and then shot the guy 4 times. |

ive been going to arc for over 10 years. and will prob keep going for the next 10. I like both games but its too far out to lock in one of them (rego for 40k isnt open yet) If you want to go then go. Jeff - the ConOrgs mentioned that they are looking into pre-payment options (our feedback from the WM event has helped push that onto their agenda) - I'll see if I can find out whether that's an option for next year's event.
Dave - 40k has neither Magnus nor Renegades. They just don't do "anti-hero" quite as well -------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. H.L. Mencken

20 odd players dropped out on day 1 and day 2! It was not 20 odd, it was around 8 from memory. Meanwhile, back in reality, can we not have a fight between 40k and WFB in a WARMACHINE thread thanks? I just can't handle that much Irony. -------------------- I get paid to type accurately all day, f'ed if I'm giving it away for free.
