I wish I had a unit as broken and useless as a Venerable Dread, We'll take them if you don't want them, Hagen!

As another DE player ive had a mixed bag with Hellions, in 1 game they wiped out 3 fire warrior squads and a group of kroot and lost 1 hellion (unit of 5 with a succubus with punisher combo). while my raiders were blow to bits by railgun fire. In another they killed 2 guardsmen, lost 3 from an officer with a powerclaw and fellback 4 inches, only to be rapid fired by 20 guardsman from another squad.
In the first game the Hellions had +1 S (so wounding on 2+ on the turn they charged), in the second the had Always strike first (which is pointless, since they are I6). What i think is they are not so much crap, but are lacking abit. I would like to see them be able to take haywire grenades and wych weapons, so that they are a bit more worth their points cost Thats my 2 cents lol. -------------------- Fetch me another plaything this one seems to have broken

QUOTE But Mandys... stop calling them mandys......:-( they'll get offended.... (Dire Straits song....."And the DJ, he say, here's Mandy For Ya !") good points alex...and yeah, I am stuck in a v3 warp.....haven't played DE much in V4....I'm hoping the new 'dex will sort a few things out to do with the transition for DE to 4th....that is....if they are still a seperate race :-D I can see the attraction of the wwp in v4 though...played it in v3 and it sucked compared to raider squads....in v4 it protects the raiders a bit...might have to experiment a bit.... -------------------- bambi

You could not pick up DE for a year, Stu, and still not have a new Codex to consider. My take on the new DE dex is we won't see it until at least 2007!
Next time you want to play Dark Eldar, experiment with putting3 raiders in the weawy (one wyches) and put a WWP on a Haemmie, march him behind warriors, another WWP either on IC or Sybarite in squad, and wait for that turn 3 punch! Oh, and I stupidly belatedly worked out a slight improved defence to FotA. Just join you WWP toting ICs to squads, der! Wish I thought of that at MOAB! Obviously, the squad can still get pinned, but it's not as bad as losing your haemonculus and wwp forever! ANyway, anytime if you'd like any tips on WWP armies, if I can help I will! You've seen my lists... Glad to her the Sororitas will make a return. Hey, you realise Rhinos have a fire point useable by two shooters? I suppose you realised this, however, I was happy to also discover that the Immolator also has a similar Fire Poiint! SO the Dominion squad with 2 meltaguns and 2 flamers suddenly seems a whole lot more attractive! -------------------- Official ACADEMIC LEMMING Lords of Terra 2013 will run 20th & 21st July, 2013 Venue Blacktown Bowl 6th Edition NO COMP!!!!! 1500pts, NO IA armies but "40K approved" units are allowed- may include allies and/or a fortification as per rules 50% Battle! Then they'd probably be even more useless in your guys hands... ;-) Cheers Hagen -------------------- Whenever I dwell for any length of time on my own shortcomings, they gradually begin to seem mild, harmless and rather engaging little things - not at all like the staring defects in other people's characters.
