Okay, due to FB image hosting server changes, all my old pics are dead Pics start again from Post#76 My Iron Lords CSM army has been one of those armies that just keeps on growing.. which in some ways is great.. but its left me with a feeling of never being able to finish a whole army. Ive also found it to be very hard to make it competative (too much fluff in the way). After seeing Disco Volante's awesome death guard stamp all over the last tournament I was in, the seed of Nurgle was planted.. I decided that its about time that I made an army that I can finish. One with a set model list that doesnt budge.. that I can work through without hobby creep or distraction by shiny new things! Enter the Death Guard! The list is: 7 x 7 man Death Guard squads (DG) Great Unclean One (GOU) 7 x plaguebearers 3 x Deamon princes (DP) {Third one was the only impulse buy for this army.. the FW DP is just too awesome to not have!} 3 x obliterators zombie horde (enough for up to 6 x 7 man squads) Not only do I plan to actually finish painting this army.. I plan to enter it into Armies on Parade next year, which means a display board too! This post has been edited by Plebicidal: Nov 5 2012, 01:31 PM -------------------- My trade thread

Ive already started this army (ive been lazy & putting off starting this diary for a while now
But ill start from the beginning.. The bags of bits: ![]() (I scored a whole heap of 2nd hand CSM that had been stripped - they were all sorts of nasty.. what better use for them than to turn them to nurgle!) The building begins: ![]() ![]() After a white undercoat & a sprayed basecoat of Dheneb stone: ![]() Initial washes: ![]() Random detail shot: ![]() drybrushed back up with Dheneb: ![]() Blocked in the armour trim, weapons & bones with Charadon granite (For some reason I got lazy with my photos during this bit.. probably because I hate painting CSM armour trim ![]() ![]() ![]() .. . -------------------- My trade thread

Armour was worked up from tin bitz, bones worked up through kommando kahki & guns etc through adeptus battlegrey.. everything was washed back, rust was added & some re-work was done on any fleshy areas/sore etc:
![]() ![]() & some detail shots: ![]() ![]() ![]() The next step is the bases.. which so far hasnt worked out so great Ill get some shots of them up soon to show WIP including current failure & intended fix! .. . -------------------- My trade thread

You can borrow my Termies if you like!?
But yeah, sounds rad. I'm flat out painting this week and am in ACT next weekend. Week after sound alright?! Uni will be sorted by then too so it'd be all good from my end. Is the entire army going to be walking? My DG troops all go in rhinos. But the unfortunate part I've found is there is usually not enough bodies to contest objectives after the dust settles. The troops are starting to look good

These look great! Love that pale armour, done mine in bleached green. I'll try and get some photos when I get back from holidays. How are the bases coming along?

Very nice work.
Blocked in the armour trim, weapons & bones with Charadon granite (For some reason I got lazy with my photos during this bit.. probably because I hate painting CSM armour trim Tell me about it. When I added Death Guard to my CSM, I only painted the shoulder trim. The rest was left the same colour as the armour. -------------------- |
