OK so to get the ball rolling I thought I would pick a date and run one. Let me know if this date should be cool (I can’t think of any big events).
It will start a 3pm to as late as you can stay up. Food will be provided and there will be some drinks but if you want beer you may have to bring some. There could also be some non WGol people as well as I have same mates who we occasionally have a LAN with and they will also be invited. You will need to bring a LAN cable and a powercord and/or extension lead could be useful. Also if someone has a hub that could be handy as counting the modem we can only plug 10 people in with the one we have (if lots of you have wireless laptop then that maybe less of an issue). . Depending on what people bring (we can fit more laptop on the kitchen table) we should be able to accommodate around 16 people on tables/chairs. So let me know if you think you can bring some more if we have a big interested. Anyway post interest if you think you can come. So I can get a rough idea of number. All good, a LAN day will be just as fun and less cleaning for me
 I'll be there. What games will we be playing? I always hate spending the first few hours of a LAN sorting out what versions of games we all have... I suggest that if you are planning or playing a less than legal version of a game youhave disks ready for everyone to install from to save time. If there are games we should buy from steam or whatever then let us know. -------------------- If a tech priest goes to ground against telsa weapons, does he take no damage?

I think that's the first thing we need to do, work out what games people want to play, I'll get my server machine set up appropriately and bring that along with me on the day so we can run dedicated servers on it.
I currently have a bunch of the Source stuff, aswell as Minecraft and Ultima Online servers installed on it. -------------------- I <3 DEFIANT GAMING

If you haven’t got it already get Team fortress 2 on steam (it looks to be free now). I will post some more games later but I think we can work out any transfers on the day and can play TF2 while we wait. If you have any suggestions for games let me know as unless we have a few games running at once of few of the classics I usually to play are out as they have a max of 8 players. But remember the older is often the better so we don’t have to worry if peoples PC’s are a little old. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is always a decent LAN game, pretty certain you can just copy paste the game as well, so saves on installing time.
I have Company of heroes, age of empires 2, Giants, supreme commander +expansion and homeworld 2 all in folders ready to go, so also super quick to get going. And I can bring an xbox 360 with 2 controllers that can be connected to my monitor for playing halo 2 and 3 and super street fighter 4. Im super interested in this.
Game suggestions in order of my favs for lan: L4D 1 and 2 Dow 1 (dark crusade or soulstorm) SC2 Space Marine DOTA -requires warcraft 3 CS source I would be totally down with Homeworld if anyone else has it i would be keen to buy it for the lan. My faves Include:
Swat 4: Utter brilliance in Co-Op. I hear its good in VS as well. Dark Crusade or DoW II: I mean why not. Company of Heroes: Much better than the Dawn of War series. Homeworld 2: Because space ships.
