Cheesy 3k Dark Elves, Need more cheese? Options

As the title says, I am building a cheesy Dark Elf list. But because I am still a nice guy, it's not as bad as I could do (there is only 2 hydras and 48 xbows ). So how well do you think this army would actually do?

Hey mate, this is actually a pretty soft list, apart from the 2 Hydras, but at that points level they are not that great.

I realise its a copy paste from army builder, but command options and what not aren't displayed.

The dreadlord needs a mount to use Caledor's bane as it is a lance. Actually, scratch CB all together, it is not worth 35 points.

In any case, the dreadlord himself isnt bringing much to the army. At 3k, Dark Elves should have a max of 4 characters. A LVL4, a LVL2, COB and then you have a fourth character to fill a support role, so either a hunter peg master/dread, or an assassin, or even a BSB un a unit (if your COB isnt the BSB). Any other characters are wasted.

The lvl4s setup is ok, she could really use a ward save though.

Get rid of Shadowblade if you want to be competitive. The only time he is useful is against Teclis, apart from that he is a massive points sink since you can get two tooled up assassins for his cost.

Get rid of Banner of Nagarythe, one of the worste choices in the book. The COB doesnt need manbane either. Keep her cheap. Actually just looking at it, the points for manbane havnt been included, it should be 400 points. So yeah, keep the COB as cheap as possible at 225 points.

The 24 crossbows should be given shields and full command to act as a combat unit if they are needed.

Spears could use more bodies for sure, at least 35. That said Im using a unit of 70 atm to great success.

The corsairs could use more bodies too, but not essential if your running Shadow for Okkams goodness. But at the very least, they need the SSS for frenzy.

I dont know what youve given the knights to make them 344 points, but their best setup is 10 knights with FC and standard of hag graef. They are beasts when blessed by the COB, and only costs 345 points.

So you should have a few points to spend after dropping the above. Pickup some shades (2*5) and some harpies, then spend the rest on a block of elite infantry (WEs, Exec or BG) to add some much needed combat punch to the army.

I did have the Lord on a Dragon (hence Caledors Bane), but dropped it for points. Shadowblade was there mainly so can start him in enemy warmachine groups. Was looking at the list when i put it up, and think I do need more bodies in it for sure. Thanks for the advice
