Would like to just say thanks to everyone who played in Arcanacon Masters.
Big thanks to Terry for flying down from SA to run the event. Great prizes, I think around $500 in vouchers and another $500 or so in products there on the day. OOO and Signed Wrath and Dominion Books I loved the the presentation at the end. Where starting for last place working your way back up to 1st you got them to come forward and pick ANY prize they wanted. Though it was great to see the people who had a bit more back luck than then others get some nice prizes. I know little Jake was quite happy think he came 5th from the bottom and walked away with $20, a Faction Book and a Blister pack of somthing he choose. Thank you to everyone i played, i had a great time. This post has been edited by Blythy: Jan 30 2012, 10:45 AM -------------------- Blythy AKA The Apache Recliner

Congrats on the win Blythy!
How great is the Aus scene going now with two massive events held on the same weekend (and another one in Qld as well!). If the masters was at Cancon next year, would you make the trip to defend your title? I'm sure we could arrange a recliner for you somewhere. |

I think it would all be dependent on the Recliner mate.
Great to see some great Events being ran, Numbers are amazing would love to continue to see the scene grow even more. I would def be there if it was the masters must defend the title. How did you pull up ove the week end mate? -------------------- Blythy AKA The Apache Recliner

Happy with how it went though, as it was the first tourney for my new faction and I was woefully under prepared. |

-------------------- Best quote ever Rojo: Being reduced to leadership 2 on Saturday night at Castle Assault and failing my Aura of Madness test from 6" away from the Jabberslythe whilst a Vampire Count watched on in the background.
From deep within the misty mountains sprang forth a goblin like no other. Tales of his beauty spread far and wide as did many a maiden. But all this was not to last and as in time he ran out of maidens to conquer and rather then convert he decided to look for fresh conquests. His name was Syphilis the Ladykiller and many a goblin flocked to his banner with the promise of wine, women and song. As news of his Waaaaaagh spread many of the armies of the old world gathered to protect their maidens virtues and in the case of the high elves all their virtues. |

Thanks mate, I must admit I was a bit worried that being the invading Adelaidean running things might come off the wrong way, I'm really relieved by all the awesome responses

Thanks to Terry for TOing - the Warmachine side of the event was excellent. I will certainly give greater thought to the Adelaide events now because of that.
Unfortunately for me, the venue was so abysmal considering the cost of coming down there that it pretty much soured the whole experience for me. My understanding is that it was even worse than last year, where at least they were in one of the larger halls, and not in 3rd floor greenhouses. It really was bush leage IMO. I'll definitely not be attending Arcanacon again unless I hear they've moved venues (by which I mean a completely new venue, not some other crappy room at a school). No way in hell its worth spending $500ish on that experience. -------------------- BRISMACHINE WEEKEND

I was wondering when you'd notice
Huge thanks to Terry and Luke for running the events over the weekend - I had a great time. The heat in the venue was terrible, but the event organisation was fantastic. Hopefully next year we can find some air conditioning. In true Melbourne weather style, it's now back down to the low-mid 20's - three days too late to help the tournament. Also - many thanks to GGMazatas, davac, Jetty Smurf, Sambalam, GGMazatas (again!), Archipelago, wotsnik and (sarcasm) for eight excellent games. Particularly to Sambalam and wotsnik for being such good sportsmen while utterly annihilating my armies... even while packing away whole units each turn, I really enjoyed both those games. I didn't get to play Skell or Chunky (I suspect they were too busy winning their games to end up in my bit of the round draw...) and had been hoping to play at least a couple of the WAACY crew, but there's always next time. -------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. Is it because you got "schooled"? Chunky? GEDDIT. Nice, nice. I can't comment on next years Arcanacon yet, but trust me guys - it was far worse as the guy nonstop on his feet and running around shouting. I don't think my Warmachine shirt will ever be the same. -------------------- I get paid to type accurately all day, f'ed if I'm giving it away for free.

Even though i was unable to attend, i had heard that Arc was going to make sure we got better rooms this year. Sounds like they failed to deliver, which is very disappointing because the rooms Arc has given us over the past were really bad as well when it came to the heat. Hope the Arc event organisers take note of this and try and give the warmahordes better rooms to run our events in.
The tournament has always be run really well, but the venue sucks -------------------- "I wonder who will be in possession of Nysorr once the music stops?"
