Cheers for the welcome. Getting smashed in three straight games was entertaining. It's good to know that no matter how kind the dice are, if I screw up I will still lose. Only played one fantasy game before so I will give you an easy win next round! -------------------- |

If I'd still had the Mage he could have dispelled the Ash Storm and the Lions could have gotten out of harm's way. That's all on me. -------------------- Kings of War Campaign at Greenacre Gamers, SA.

Since the fantasy dates are penned down as the 6th and 20th do we have a catchup game next week? Who did we miss, just myself, Josh and Marshal? Your free to play whenever you like. Official days are there to encourage play to happen as a group at the same time. So to catch up you'll need to place your settlement marker and get some games in, easy enough. And yes, yourself, josh L, Marshall and byran were absent. Although I didn't miss the 50 skeleton horde I have to say. -------------------- The Little Men Shed For Adelaide city gaming...

By my reckoning this Tuesday is the next "Campaign Night"
Is this still a goer? I am just concerned that I haven't seen any forum activity, and I know Matthew is being dragged off to Perth. -------------------- Kings of War Campaign at Greenacre Gamers, SA.

Yep, hopefully this is the last week I get dragged to Perth though. So rest of April I'm hoping to get some Fantasy action in.
Easter should help in getting my 1200 points assembled, as at the moment I'm missing half a unit of Black Orcs >.> |

It is uncertain, we have no where near the amount of people keen to invest in it as we had in the begining and those that are interested are very infrequent due to real life commitments. The manner in which the campaign has been constructed requires alot of regular play between a good number of people. And at the moment that isn't happening.
I'm disappointed as i really like the idea and the setting. And my map! But personaly i'm finding that i don't have the personal time available to build both a fantasy army for the campaign and a 40k army for terracon in june. As i have to choose between the two i choose terracon as it is an awesome event and it drives play at the club. This is another reason why i'm disapointed as it is the campaign that has brought new players to the LMS and as interest fades we may end up losing those new players. I'm still keen to have a fantasy bash any week, Brets, Tomb Kings, Empire whatever. And this casual style of play seems to work better for the LMS. Perhaps we can move the focus of fantasy gaming to strait narrative play. Develop missions on the forums and duke them out once a fortnight or so. Unfortunately the long running campaign does not generate play as i wished it had. But that doesn't mean that fantasy die out we just need to adjust it to something that works. -------------------- The Little Men Shed For Adelaide city gaming...

Thanks mate.
Since I'm not a regular member it's hard for me to keep my finger on the pulse. This sounds like a fairly typical situation for any game that's not the #1 game at a club. Big flurry of interest at launch, then it drops off. It takes concerted effort to keep gaming like this alive - we saw this happen with Dystopian Wars at Infinity, as soon as the core few went back to focusing on Warmachine, Dystopian Wars stopped getting played regularly. I've got zero interest in 40kz as I already play Blood Bowl & Warmachine for competitive gaming, so for me Fantasy was primarily motivation to complete an army project. If nothing else, I've gotten a ton of pretty mans out of this. I'll keep bashing away at the army and I hope this can resume once tourney season is over! -------------------- Kings of War Campaign at Greenacre Gamers, SA.

To true, it is a shame. But don't consider it dead, just postponed. We'll look to pick it up in the second half of the year.
It is going to get harder again as a number of the regulars will be unable to attend for good lengths of time, so we'll be running on fumes. I'd be happy to catch up for a game of fantasy if your keen, either at the LMS or Infinity. -------------------- The Little Men Shed For Adelaide city gaming...
