Proxying or not you need to tell your opponent clearly who is who anyway.

There isn't a whole lot of distinction between weapons 3 feet away...and there is variation on what a <insert weapon here> looks like between factions.

A real Custodier (proxied as itself!) is not a bad idea.
She does pretty much what the Moira does.

They also just released a second one so its a coin flip on which makes it to having models for a full 5 man Link Team first.

Tbh, i think proxying will really come down to your opponent clearly knowing what the model in question (or isn't). I've played in official ITS tournies where the organiser has been happy to allow proxies, even ones breaking LP's "cross faction" rule.

Here's two of mine - i hate the croc men models so am often using them as an excuse to run models i like from the other factions. I just adjust my paint scheme, and add aerials and green stuff as appropriate. Most important, i make sure my opponent understands what the models are.

Ok, as this seems to have evolved into a generic Infinity Questions thread (though driven by JWAI). So I may put another qu. here as it was just touched upon by Wombats. JWAI please let me know if you'd prefer I start a new thread instead smile.gif.

Not fussed at all. However, the thread has become a fair bit longer than I thought, so I've edited the thread title to reflect that wink.gif

Switching the Reverend Moira with Multi Rifle (in the starter box) for a Reverend Custodier with a Combi Rifle + Marker is virtually a straight swap. You lose the gun, Multi-terrain and a point of PH for some BTS protection and the ability to hack.

This looks to be the start of a 150 point list:

I don't think I've seen all the synergies in that list, but it's a start...

Do Remotes or TAGs become a near-mandatory choice in higher point games? My interest is piqued about Nomads being able to hide and direct Zonds with guided missiles, but I should get acquainted with the rules before looking at the tricks.

What options do infantry have to avoid getting owned by Remotes and TAGs?

Prayer?

Not a lot most infantry can do to stop a TAG apart from lucky crits.

Bummer. Sounds like I would want to take Remotes or TAGs if someone else is.

Remotes aren't that big a deal - their stats are about even with most LI and most of them don't have armour. Total reaction bots can be taken down by combat camo attacks pretty easily and Nomads have plenty of ways of being able to hack them.

TAGs you can sort out with volume of fire - HMGs, spitfires, massed chain rifles, etc. - or you could go exotic and try to take them down with E/M weapons or glue.

Glue guns are the best option for immobilising a TAG.
Autocannons or missile launchers are also good.

E/M weapons are nice - but ... The target makes a BTS roll instead of armour and there is no such thing as an AP equivalent for E/M (there IS a DA equivalent though) and should not be counted on (especially with the heavier TAGs having BTS-9).

Yea of little faith. Infantry is great for taking out the TAG's order monkeys. Then watch the crippled TAG stumble around with a couple of orders.

Ironically, Mark, you have me to a 'T'.

Matter of fact, I am someone of very little faith. So little that it cannot be measured. biggrin.gif

When the TAG is up in your grill killing your order monkeys, it's kinda hard to take HIS out at the same time.
So, being the guy of so very little faith (why else do you think I have no religious models/units in any of my armies? My bias runs deep.) when faced with unbeatable odds (I am NOT a gambler. I do not bet unless I am sure of the outcome.) I do what reasonable people do and concede. "He will triumph who knows when to fight and when not to" and all that.

[When you are up to your ar5e in crocs, it's hard to remind yourself that your original objective was draining the swamp]

I've found monofilament mines work wonderfully well against TAGs... Especially when layed in ARO against one advancing on your camo'd marker at point blank range!

Cheers smile.gif

I have Spitfire/HMG'ed down TAGs using a Link Team firing at similar BS.
Or peg them through Smoke, they don't get MSV.

Walk a hacker on and Hack stationary over a wall, drop down behind them and go to town?

Going to lose some models doing it but they paid 100pts and 2 SWC for it so you bloody should.

If TAGs are dominating games you should have more terrain.

Generally a new release for each faction each month pending what their last release was.

From what I've read hack/glue + D-charges is a common tactic for nomads.

Bought Cassandra Kusanagi, a Prowler, a Zero and a Reverend Custodier this evening. Once I have the starter box, I think I'll be on a roll to start learning the game.

Painting those things looks like it'll be harder than what I'm normally used to, but at least there's less of them all up.

Unfortunately, the Bakunin sectorial list doesn't have much in the way of D-charges.

Good start! You should also have a look at some modeators with heavier weapons (ahem sniper ahem) to add to your team to make it a nice big link team. 4 or 5 is the right size for link teams with one or two of them having a bigger gun.

As a nomad player definitely have a look at their remotes. All of them. They have some of the best remotes in the game. Simply fantastic, and the newer ones look really great too.
