For a long time I've been wanting to do an Arbite/Enforcer 40k army. I've been collecting pieces here and there but it wasn't until recently that I managed to reach critical mass. The army will be a small force, designed to be themey but hopefully not too soft.

The Necromundan Armoured Response Force (N.A.R.F) will use the imperial Guard codex. As much as I love the BOLS fan dex I want to stick to main stream rules where possible so that I can enter tournaments without begging to use extra rules, and then explaining them to my opponent every game. This unfortunately means no riot shielded enforcers sad.gif

To try stick with an urban response theme, all vehicles are Chimera chassis based. Even if I ever expand this army there will be no russ variants.

The models I am using are necromunda enforcers.

The list I have settled on for the first 1200 points:

**** LIST REMOVED ****
new list posted later (including 6th ed allies!)

The first two squads (apart from vehicles) are basically done. All models are completely pinned in at least two locations. Some need green stuff work though to hide wrist connections where they aren't great. Its a good thing I love working with metal models!

Plastic scout shotguns are perfect for overcoming the shortage of metal shotguns in the enforcers box.

Squad 1:
Veterans
- Shotguns
- 2 x Plasma Guns
- Lascannon
- Grenadier Armor

IPB Image

The lascannon uses a Cyber Mastive to carry ammo packs.

IPB Image

Squad 2:
Veterans
- Shotguns
- 2 x Flamer
- Meltagun
- Grenadier Armor
- power weapon

IPB Image

The Ogryn squad has been started too. The only thing I need to come up with is a way to represent ripper guns. Any ideas??
Ogryn (3)
- 2 x More Ogryn

Updates will come when they happen smile.gif

Stay tuned!

Ha!! Love the riot shield ogre linesmen!! Original and awesome!! Though you might wanna fill in their faces with face flak shields to protect them more than a footy helmet.

You could always leave your vets vanilla from the book and make stormtroopers your riot shield guys... That way they get an armour bonus over your other guys, but are otherwise comparable in stats and gear to the vets.

Just a thought.

Cheers dude, Ronin

very cool theme, loving the ogryns and that lascannon conversion looks great.

Cant wait to see more.

Have you thought about using the wheel conversion kits from chapterhouse for the chimeras?

An idea for the ripper guns could be the IG grenade launchers? Are they big enough?

Great work! You could have also done an Inquisitorial retinue. THe old Arbites with shotguns are still some of the timeless awesome that GW has come up with.

For the Ripper guns (if you can find them) the old Chaos Havoc Heavy Bloters may do the trick.

Ork shootas man, for the Ripper gatts. Dime a dozen to get your hands on, cut the barrel off one and use it to extend the other. Has that homemade look and feeling.

A lot of people use autcannons cut down to make the ripper guns. Cadian grenade launcher would look like a pistol on an Ogryn.

I like the BB ogryn but am not sure the all left handers looks right for the shield.

In your case you could mount the cadian grenade launcher into the shield like a shield with a built in weapon.

I also think the Oggryn need bladed weapons as well.

I like the Judges. not sure about the guy carrying a lascannon, that's supposed to be astartes only.

And Necromundan gangers. And Necromundan Arbites. And Tanith Guard (admittedly just the one). And some Catachan Guard. Honestly it's probably just the full-time Guard being lazy or Unionised that requires them to use two guys smile.gif

Not usually a fan of 40K projects, but this one looks the biz sofar. Keep it up!

I did the same thing several years ago using the Necromunda Arbites
IPB Image

Also took a Primaris Psyker as a Psi Judge, converted a Vindicare Assassin to look like Judge Dread and used Karskrin to be a SWAT(Special Weapons Arbites Team).

But yes, agree, NERF would be good. Describes the average Guardsman's firepower, certainly.

Yeah I had Pinky in mind smile.gif

All good ideas though. Until I start painting I'm open to more smile.gif

I was Originally going to go with Necromunda Arbites Defender Squad but as much as I love NADS... err.. the name ... I thought it was more suited to a planetary defense force than Arbites. The image of an Ogryn in Carapace armour carrying a giant shield with N.A.D.S written across it is pretty hard to resist. Unless someone can come up with a better acronym wink.gif

Necromundan Armoured Destruction Squad?
Necromunda Agressive Detention Squad?
Necromunda Arbites Death Squad?

@ Ruleslawyer, your arbites army looks great. I'm sure I remember looking at it at ARC. The HQ choices look a bit like these (though you did say you converted them so thats even better).
http://wargamesfoundry.com/fantasy_ranges/...dges_2000ad002/
http://wargamesfoundry.com/fantasy_ranges/...dges_2000ad001/
I wont be using them but they were considered smile.gif

[b]@ BlackBrick[b] The first guns I tried were ork shootas but they just don't look right. The problem is the fists are just so massive they just look silly with even an Ork sized gun in them. I'll try find my first test weapon and take a pic to show you what I mean.

I'm leaning towards the idea of a wrist mounted gun possibly with an ammo belt going somewhere or just hanging.

I will try the grenade launchers first though, if they work it would save me heaps of time!

Yeah they were converted but they are a mashup of the foundry miniatures and GW figs. Not an easy conversion but with a dremel, green stuff and patience I think they worked.

Got the circuit design from here*:

I Just had to change the resistor to change how fast the flasher works*

(*) Disclaimer, I didn't actually find any of this... My wife did...
