Just making sure people have a chance to see this!
So been a wait since I first announced this was coming back this year. Time for some updates. ANUWTF is an annual event held by the ANU wargaming society. Along with its brother tournament ANUCON it is designed to provide a friendly tournament environment, where people can come together and get some guaranteed games, battle some hard battles, have some fun. It also acts as fundraiser for our humble club, providing some much needed cash to ensure we can continue to run our organisation for gamers. http://anuwargamingsociety.proboards.com/ our forums if you wish to learn more. We don't charge anything for our regularly gaming nights, and aim to cater to one and all! Anyhoo enough spiels, time for the tournament Dates: 21st, 22nd April Army Size: 2000 Cost: $40 ($35 for entrants who sign up before 6th April) Game Format: 5 Games, Team Game Scoring: 50% Battle, 30% Sports, 10% Comp, 10% Painting Organiser: Ben Halligan TO: Steve (forgotten his surname, will totally amend when I'm less tired) Rule Modifications: - Max 12 Power Dice used per turn, no matter how many can be generate through other means - Other than winds of magic and channelling, an army may only generate an additional 2 dispel dice (this includes armies which "store" previous power dice as dispel dice). A dwarf army can generate a maximum of 4 dispel dice per magic phase. - 3 x 6s to Irresistable force and Miscast - Characters may benefit from a look out sir against direct damage spells that target a unit, and not the character himself, like as to the hit from a warmachine. Army Modifications: - No special characters - Using new Vampire Counts Book - No Dogs of War - No more than 4 warmachines and no more than 2 of the same kind. - No more than 3 of the same unit type, including characters, can be in your army - No more than 2 scouting units can be in army - No more than 1 of the following selections in your army - Arch Lectors, Hellpit Abominations, Plague Furnace OR Screaming Bell, Hellcannons, War Hydras, Black Coaches, Wraiths, Steam Tanks, and Flamers, Mournfang, Ironblasters Scenarios: Battle Line Dawn Attack Meet Engagement Battle for the Pass King of the Hill (modified Watchtower) Surprise scenario for team game! Simple break down of battle points table (Out of 20). There will be 4 bonus objectives per scenario to allow the opportunity to get extra points! Battle Points Table Victory Point Battle Point 0-50 10 10 51-250 11 9 251-450 12 8 451-750 13 7 751-1150 14 6 1151-1550 15 5 1501-2100+ 16 4 Painting: Painting will be a simple - got some colours on your army? Few highlights? Did some conversions? Sprayed and then slapped your miniatures with dipping, foundation, maybe a wash? GREAT! 10 points. Seriously this tournament is meant to encourage everyone to come out and have a great time. People will acknowledge great looking armies with compliments and praise. However this tournament is for all players to have some fun. There are other great tournaments in Canberra and interstate that you might spend weeks painting till 5 am the morning before it. This one, just come and have some fun! Comp: Its out of 10, I'll rank it depending on how hardcore it is. There are enough restrictions to curb certain things. I will be looking very closely at certain magic item and character combinations. If I think your list it too disgusting I WILL ask you to resubmit. I'm not going to be too anal, but this tournament isn't for people to crush people utterly into the dust. Its friendly, and fun - please keep this in mind. I want the comp score not to shatter more competitive lists, but there are things I won't tolerate. You can msg me through the forums about what is acceptable. TBH people who play more competitively will probably be familiar with the combinations I'm talking about Sports: I'll go into more detail about sports later. Hopefully this is all enough for people to start more serious planning! I'll be updating this more and more next couples of days. Some slightly amendments might occur - not army size, dates or anything like that though Enjoy! |

most tournaments will post a accompanying thread in warhammer general at the same time as the thread in your main forum area, so people are more readily aware of it.
given the slow post movement in the main thread it tends to get covered up by GG threads in that latest post in thread thing on the right hand side........and if people don't know it's on... |

1. Lists are due 14th
2. We have 12 players so far, but we have a tendency to get a late influx every year sp I'm expecting about 20 all up. Guess we shall see |
