haha all these ideas we have come up with!!! lash doesn't work as well because all zombies are indipendent models! but they don't fight in combat that way. Dont stress there are easy rules for shooting and attacking multiple zombies, but lash is funny when you lash your enemy into a zombie swarm to get mauled! the overlord is a great character too as is the warboss. The spawn character we tried and is good but the spawn have rage and it gets hard toc reate spawn when the zombie toughness goes up.

Don't get too excited, with the items you can get characters like tyranid primes are exceptionally good as well as librarians and a whole bunch of other characters. Tau commanders are also excellent choices!

What if you did a L4D type scenario?

2-8 Players

If you die you count as pinned and cant get up till someone unpins you. They do this by being in base with you for 1 turn without performing any actions. You then recover on one wound. If you get Pinned 3 times in a row with out healing you die.

You movement is reduced buy 1 for every wound under your starting number.

You can pick up and use heath packs which are items that heal you to full wounds (must give up a turn to do so).

Pipe bombs are demo charges with a 12” range that blow up 2 turns after you throw them and all zombies must move there full movement to try to get to them.

He played being pinned down the the table with a tau commander up his poop shoot. How else do you rape someone with a Tau commander?

No he was tzench scorceror with wings and warptime.

I had 2 TL plasma guns and purchased +2 shots strait away, i jsut ran over to his side of the board and shot him to death twice.

We were playing with zombie pile in of 6" and D6 zombie spawns every turn isntead of 2D6 every 4th. It was as i expected, more manageable sized groups so its easier to kill them all but if you leave them for 5 turns to accumulate you have quite a horde on your hands. Still killable but certain charachters wont be able to afford to leave thier base for too long as they will get swamped when they come home.

Sounds like the changes didn't help as you don't want characters to be able to do that. hordes aren't supposed to be so managable. They shoud require thinning, what is 4 zombies going to do? Also if you buy 2 plasma guns for tau it jsut turns into a twinlinke weapon. zombie pile in means combat characters cant make escape routes for themselves which is a huge disadvantage.

No you can buy the twin liked option for more points if im not mistaken. Wouldnt have mattered much im BS5.

Actually this way it required more thinning its just easier to do and the consequence for not thinning is more extreme.

4 zombies doesnt do much if anything your right but it also meas you cant get locked and swarmed as easily, even with a shooting HQ which is something you were worried about.

Zombie pile in was not a problem but i do think it should be only 2" of pile in so its more controllable. Pile in combined with the accumulation of zombies if you dont thin them out i though to be a better zombie apocalypse feel. It also means that you dont need to really have the zombies upgrade because they get harder by virtue of numbers if you dont keep ontop of them.

Obviously this was only one test but it seemed like an imrovement to me.

I don't like the idea of the zombies not upgrading. I take it you killed simone and not the tower because with zombies coming out every wave killing the tower really isn't an option. and the tau cant get 2 of the same weapon system on a battle suit you can only get twin linked.

I think it would jsut be beter to ahve the zomie waves appear more often than jsut d6 zombies evey wave which also makes the game take heaps longer with all those zombies and keeping track of which ones have moved, what zombies are closest to what target.

Can anyone think of old school 40k wargear they would like to see put in the game?

Just as an example here are a few I have already added. They work differently to their original rules however generally on similar principles.

- Vortex Grenade
- Virus Grenade
- Refractor Field

Do you wanna know the best thing? There is an item you can buy that would let you shoot that 3 times a turn! and another that lets you move and shoot heavy weapons! But there is perminant night fight so be ware, though you can by an acute sensors upgrade!!

Old skool gear??

What about a HK robot.
It has random action each turn...like you roll a D6 to control it's automated systems.
So if nothin within 12" roll:

1-Fire (say Heavy Bolter).
2-Overwatch (HB becomes Twin-linked & rending)
3-Fall back - Robot moves D3 back to it's table edge.
4-Advance - Robot moves D3 forward (player controled)
5-Blue screen system failure (Robot moves D3 with scatter)
6-Malfunction - Robot stay's put..

If any threats are in range Robot's automated defense systems kick in, so it could fire, say it's wrist mounted bolt-pistol and charge any enemies. Robot could have furious charge or some other USR.

Just a thought - had alot of fun with Robot's in the early 90's!
