I think the WAU hordes can survive the wait, I know I'd rather see something solidly playtested than simply thrown out for the hungry hordes to devour.

Agreed, the balance seems to be good but we found a circumstance that can make the game take a long time. It lost it's intencity at that point and needs to be fixed.

Possibly. But we could be used to further beta-test it. Though I assume any feedbak we do provide will be considered.

Could you increase the zombie spawn rate so that when it does start taking a while the amount of zombies just becomes to much and wipes everyone out.

Broke the game with a character last night. It's the last thing in the world you would think to use however it means I need to put in an item to counter it. I don't like banning things and having a list of items people can't select from their codex, I would rather put in internal balancing mechanics.

Also the guys I ahve been playing with have come up with great Ideas on how to make things run more smoothe in some parts. Though I have been reluctant to change things as there is a certain feel I am going for, sometimes ou have to realize when you are just being stubborn. The game has been greatly improved by some people who have been testing this even when I'm not there!

Reclusiarch Rusty, I will indeed you guys for play testing and feedback and it most definately will be taken into account. The version I release first I want to be a lot of fun but will no doubt need tweaks. I will set up an email account specificaly for people to send suggestions and criqique to, though people can still use this forum as well. I will have on going FAQ that I will update constantly so that people aren't left hanging on rule clarifications.

The one thing I can say is it takes a few games to get a hang of the game but once people understand how things work the game speeds up dramatically. I guess that goes with any table top game though.

It turns out actually writing the rules takes longer than expected, very easy to explain and show someone, much harder to write, I am having to do diagrams so that you guys can pick it up quickly.

Woohoo! I will be working on the rulebook over wednesday while watching the football, so it's slowly coming along. Don't get thrown off but there is a few pages to read.

Its still broken. Alpha Prime is the best choice imo. I have played the game once.

you have played it once and you are making this call... we have play tested this with many different characters, and while it is good early, the zombies become harder and he can't just bash the same way he used to. I think the way the game has been play tested and how christian has been putting in new ways to balance the game it is getting pretty damn close to a "balanced" game. Definitely know need for comp tongue.gif

Thats not true the prime is awesome the whole way.
There are alot of HQs that are "fine" but some are really really good like the prime or the warboss.

The prime comes into it when you have a T5 base. Then you can regen, get a 2+ armour and a 4+ invun.

The prime become rather useless when the zombies have 4 attacks and a decent save, pitty he doesn't have a 'long' range weapon or a flamer template to thin them out with... He doesn't start with decent armour so is a prime target for other characters with long ranged weapons (tau commnader) to harass. A tyranid prime will struggle to take on a grand master or even a farseer with fortune and doom, or even a dark eldar archon. You will find characters work completely defferently depending on how the zombies grow.

Don't play something once and claim it is broken. The only truely broken character we made the other night and I am finding a way to balance it (as i dont wan't to ban unit/items etc).

that is like 90pts worth and you still haven't got a power weapon. You lose the re-rolls taking a power weapon I believe.

Your right. He doesn't have a power weapon. I know this. But he can take shooting weapons, lash whips. Etc.

A grand master is probably a lot worse later on. Due to pyscannons have 8 shots etc.

I am not saying that this will be 100% balanced the very first time the rules are published (was 5th ed? tongue.gif ). But we are attempting to balance it out through play testing and adjusting. So yeah, don't play once and claim broken. Once the rules are out, play all you would like, if it turns out a special character type is broken then we will do our best to balance it our with a V2, etc.
