helo fellow wargamers!
I havenever been to terracon but will be going this year.
what I would like to know is how competitive is the general atmosphere there? normally I like to play semi competitive, but I want to know so that I dont turn up and get smashed to pieses every game because everyone runs draigo-wing or leafblowers. how was it in the last years?
thanks in advance armata_PDT_01.gif

If your sleeping at the scout hall, don't pass out with your mouth open. You might find in the morning you have a bit more balls than the day before.

As for comp, its pretty good. A few over the top lists, but generally most are a solid 2.5-3

It's a heavily comped touney so the lists are generally on the softer side!

As some one who has been to all the terracon's I can safly say, Terracon is all ways played in good spirits, you well see sume army's that are tughf but there is comp at the tournament. I have all ways taken an army, I feel is strong but fun for all to play against. The lads you'll play will be at all different levels of competivness... And if they are betting you like last years turkey don't warry you'll be having so much fun you wont notess... biggrin.gif

The comp system i used in last years Terracon will be used again this year.
The "bonus" points for taking a weak army is not quite as many as previous Terracons due to the method of calculating the handicap score, but it is enough to balance things out between powerful and weak lists to be on par with each other.
As for the typical armies taken to Terracon, i feel that a significant majority of last years lists were very much balanced. They typically consisted of a combination of effective and weak units, but still remained solid, and quite a few seemed to go for more of a fluff perspective rather than power.
There were a handful of powerful lists, and a handful of weak ones, but most were fairly balanced.
I have no idea what the lists will be like this year though.

Taking an extremely powerful list may give you an advantage in the win-loss department, but you would need to win all 5 games and REALLY excel in painting and sports to have any chance at taking the top prize.

But overall, i like to think that Terracon is more of a friendly tournament. People travel the distance to Naracoorte to have a good time playing wardollies (and the soccer club), and not just smash the opponents face in with power lists. tongue.gif

Agreed to above.

Good Terracon = take soft list, get drunk = orsm time

Bad Terracon = take hard list = win every game and no friends = come 50th anyway = lame sauce
