The sculpting looks good man, and I was asking about the paints, because you have a very military colour there, which is hard with the GW paints.
I hope that list of stuff isn't youre 1750 list, or I'm ######ed. -------------------- "Oh! My wee-wee seems to have been stricken with rigor mortis"

Powering through these guys man.
They do seem a bit dark too me, but i have no suggestions as to how to lighten the scheme that make sense with the theme. Unless you want to paint them as fallschamjager. Powering through these guys man. They do seem a bit dark too me, but i have no suggestions as to how to lighten the scheme that make sense with the theme. Unless you want to paint them as fallschamjager. As I mentioned earlier, Germans work feldgrau which look like green. Use Vallejo Field Grey and you have the base colour. Add white to lighten. This will make them pop more. if you don't have this colour or don't have access to it use GW Catachan Green. It is very close. The thing to remember is if you are using a Wash (GW especially) that is will tint the base colour. The only way to get the base colour back is to block paint over the washed mini leaving the wash showing in the recesses. The same with the helmets. Use Vallejo German Dark Camo Green. The helmets and uniforms will then contrast more with with the black of the gloves and the brown of their pouches/webbing. Perhaps another highlight on the webbing/pouches? -------------------- |

Maybe lighten the base to provide a contrast for the model. When you see it from back a little, you see a mess of darks. and greens. A lighter colored base would really make them pop.

Yep much better. Highlight the edges with Catachan Green mixed with White and this will fade it a bit more and bring it closer to Field Grey.

Oh jas do u have any suggestions on what colours to use on my tanks. Yeah sure mate. Early war tanks were for the main part dunkelgrau which is Vallejo German Grey. GW doesn't seem to have an equivalent. Charadon Granite is the same shade but tinted too brown. My preference would be the following though. Mid to late war, for the most part, were painted dunkelgelb which would be Green Ochre for vallejo and Desert Yellow for GW. Camo patterns were applied in green and brown. For vallejo, Reflective Green and Flat Brown for GW, DA Green and Scorched Brown. As I mentioned the Germans primed their vehicles in a Red Oxide primer. Use this in the chipping process. You can see this in my Elysian thread in my sig. Dom's Decals do 28mm German tank numbers and Balkenkruezes. Pick these up to finish them off. Remember no swastikas (even if they were SS). Hope this helps. -------------------- |
