What's been happening at Southern War Gamers:-
As many are aware we have hosted some of our larger events in the large hall at the Holdfast Bay Community Centre over the last few years but for 2006 the large hall has been hired out to a Church group from 3pm Every Sunday. So the only option for Tourneys at this stage in the main hall is to go to four games (later) on Saturday and then back for one game Sunday morning, pack up and out by 1pm.
Otherwise a number of our events have been put on in the three smaller adjoining acivity rooms which holds a maximum of 16 tabels.
However the centre management has now hired out one of those rooms to a Yoga Group Saturday Mornings 1030 to 12 noon. It may be possible subject to availability of other rooms in the centre to arrange for the Yoga group to use a different room during our 2 day events but this is something that can not be firmed up until closer to the day.
So our options are:
Use the two activity rooms for 2 days events = maximum of 20 people
(however expand into the 3 rooms is available)
Start the two day events at 12 noon Saturdays and go into the evening a bit and then back on Sunday morning, or
Using the large hall for our premier events - going to 4 games on the Saturday and 1 on the Sunday.
I am interested in your feedback so we can make the best choice to enable as many people to participate in our events as possible.
Cheers for now
Mike

calendar updated Mike......

fixed the dates for gobbocon....I think the long weekend is 10-11 June 2006...not 11-12th

I think go the 4 games and run into saturday night for the hall problems....

Gobbocon conflicts with terracon.....apart from that, no real problems. Thanks for the info and good luck with the events....well planned...:-D

gobbocon conflicint with terracon shouldnt be too big a deal...

might mean a few guys missing out on terracon, but as its a fantasy event and terracon is a 40k event... it should be right...

Thanks Stu,
It was getting quite difficult to fit things in - With the GT in March, SA Con in April, Conflict in August and we are planning on being away in July and no point putting major events on very early or late int he year we were really runinig out of options. I orginally had Gobbo Con & Commissar's Cup around the other way which would have been more of a direct conflict but CJ picked up that and suggested swapping them around.
Cheers for now

Thanks Stu,
Yes you're right Gobbo Con should be 10th & 11th June - do you have access to change that on my original post to avoid confusion in case the troops look at that schedule and go no further?
Cheers

Excellent! I have posted a link to this forum on my own website if that's ok - http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic...p?p=54601#54601 - we have a few South Aussie members (myself included)
