Just wondering if anyone has played Puppet Wars (made by the Malifaux folks), and what you think of it.
The puppet minis look pretty kewl.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. yes, I've played it (Turelio on here has a copy, so we hit it pretty hard when it arrived*). It's a fun, fast little game, very flexible with the side selection (you can use any pieces from any faction).

One thing though is that the counters are very deliberately "cheap". Nothing against the quality of the product, but given that the fans of the game all went and made their own counters when the rules came out online, it was pretty clear that Wyrd were going to provide enough to differentiate different statuses and locations, but that's it. This is pretty much the only area they've done this however, as the minis are top notch, the cards are extremely clear and pre-laminated, and the board is easy to read and play on.

I'd suggest reading over the rules online and giving the game a try with proxies before you shell out, but in my opinion it's worth picking up smile.gif

EDIT: *"when it arrived": Turelio is primarily a painter, so games of Puppet Wars are off the cards for now until he's finished painting the set. I'll have to get him to throw some pics up on here.

I second Borzag's comments above. The package is cheap and the tokens are crappy, but this only leaves more room for complete customisation if you have the time.
