Hi all,

I suddenly realised that I had miscounted on my Chimera for my upcoming Guard army and am now short one, for my Tech Priest and his servitors. This got me thinking, what would the Tech Priests normally cruise around in?

Do they rely on the IG to issue them transport or would they bring their own?

If there was a significant Ad Mech presence would they bring their own?

Would they be just Chimera's, modified Chimeras, something completely different?

I was looking at possibly having something special for the Priest, just for the hell of it and cool modeling factor; and was thinking maybe an Atlas or Trojan (think the Atlas looks better!), ooooor maybe even an Iron Brotherhood Stalker Tank.

Does anyone have any solid info or any other suggestions?

Well as far as I know, it depends on the role of the tech-priest. If they were attached/assigned to a guard regiment, the regiment would provide a chimera transport which the tech-priest may slightly modify (as mentioned in Cadian Blood, which is an excellent read). But if they are part of the autonomous section of the Adeptus Mechanicus, well, they could be cruising in just about anything.

Hope that helps.

Need to remember that Tech-Priest Enginseers are Imperial Guard and not Adeptus Mechanicus

Dependent upon the role and Rank of the Techpriest...

Yeah it looks like I might stick with a blinged out Chimera with some Ad Mech skulls and cogs. The Stalker Tank, whilst awesome, might be too far of a diviation form the theme of the army. and the Atlas is pretty darn expensive...

Their not actually IN the guard in any sense, they are simply attached to it. Unlike techmarines who are marines AND techpriests, techpriest engineseers are just techpriests.

They would be getting around in chimeras though as they are very logical and the working backbone of war movements is the most obvious choice. No point having a personalized atlas when your knee deep in chimera spares after all.

That stalker tank looks the business though, who makes those??

They're made by Micro Arts Studio, the same people who do all of the Iron Brotherhood line.

It looks awesome and has been designed with the Chimera in mind (IMO) as it is a near identical footprint and has the rear hatch, top turret and hull mounted weapon.

However I think it might be a little over the top for my army, maybe if I was doing an entire Ad Mech force. I think in the end I will stick with a blinged out Chimera or an Atlas if I can pick one up cheap.

Cheers
