I'm interested too - seeing as I have a largish collection of Forge Fathers...
the first thing I though of was Squats (sisters) of battle, assuming the models used are appropriately armoured. if not then the next step would be a SM Scout based force (4+ armour & access to various fluffy Marine vehicles), or if they are lightly armoured I.G., though thats a bit dull. I personally wouldn't go for many of the variant Marine (or chaos) dex's as i don't think a Squat should be 'better' (grey hunters etc.) or aggressive (BA, chaos etc) than a vanilla marine but perhaps a more 'defensive' marine codex like Dark Angels might be the go totally not influenced by the potential of a new dex -------------------- Old Avatar WTB - unpainted CRYX Plastic Slayers (battlebox ones are perfect!) offering $20 pre-postage or I'm in sydney for Pickups |

Why not just make them counts as Marines and then you could use any of the Marine codex. I dont see them being better suited for one marine faction or another (maybe wouldnt work well with Templar, though angry fits!), Wolves would be cool, short angry vikings!

1 reason i was thinking blood angels is i wanted to make a thunderchubby out of a stormtalon.
this army will most likely not see tourney play either... JoD -------------------- 4 Sharp Whistle Blasts!!

Space Wolves are probably the best thematic fit for Space Dwarves, sharing nordic influence.

So people are cool with this, But not Orks counts as.
Id run them as G.K henchmen list. With a mix of Monkeys, henchmen, sevros etc. Also a squat D.K would be a swweeet model -------------------- |

You I think maybe necrons would fit them best but there really just isn't an army that fits them well.
I mean as I see it you want something with the stats of a human but T4, and I2 and high tech equipment, maybe better WS and BS as well. So I think necrons would be closest but they aren't right. -------------------- Imperial Zoo at Altdorf

So people are cool with this, But not Orks counts as. Orks are already represented by an army list whilst squats arent, I think that is where most of the resistance would come from. I personally wouldnt care but only question the motives behind building a counts as army list, if one already exists, is it to use the most powerful list at the time, or is it to create some awesome modeling and fluff creations which the current list doesnt allow. -Dono -------------------- |

You could not, would not, on a boat. You will not, will not, with a zoat. You will not fire them in the rain. You will not fire them on a train. Not in the dark! Not in a tree! Not with a prime! You let me be! You can not fire them them in a box. You can not fire them with a fox. You can not fire them in a house. You can not fire them with a mouse. You can not fire them here or there. It's the T4. zthey're Squats. they need T4.
Otherwise they'd be guard all over the shop. but T3 doesn't cut it. And Marines, even Scouts, are slightly too good. But Scouts are still the closest. Bolter toting 4+ T4 dudes. Shotties and BP / CCW works too. Less so snipers maybe, dunno. But all the counts as vehicles you like! |
