the list:

Slann, 4th gen, BSB, totem of prophecy, 2 x dispel scrolls, diadem, plaque of tepoc 565pts

Priest: lvl 2, staff of sorcery, mark of the old ones 185

skink chief: hand weapon, light armour, SoM, E.shield, jag charm, sotek, scout: 145

18 saurus, full command 246pts

3x 10 skinks, javelins and shields 60 each => 180pts

2x 3 kroxigor 174 each => 348pts

6 chameleon skinks 90pts

6 saurus cav. standard, 230pts

2x 2 sallies 130 each => 260pts

total: 2249, DD: 5 + 2 scrolls + (+2 to dispel), PD: 8 (or 10 with +1 to cast from toadman)

there we go, a fair bit of magic in there, i tried to decrease the amount of shooting... (may or may not have succeeded).

thought i would throw in the cav. for fun, i love the models (well the cold ones are cool... saurus more "meh"). i figured i would leave out the banner, because i can always try and get that beasts spell or the shadows one that i can cast on them to make em move.

i am just after an approx comp score, (0-5), maby some suggestions, etc

Shane as a general rule 2 units of salamanders is naughty.

2 units of salamanders + a toad is horrendous.

I wish I could get away with running lists like this

shane - i would swap a salamander for the huanchi banner - it's too gold to not have it. the extra points should get you to 20 saurus.

aside from that, looks okay. but 4 salamanders is more than you need really.

i like it shane as you know iv never had any problems with 2x2 sallies and the people that complain about it should suck it up!

Luke mate if this was something minor fine, I can accept you telling me to 'suck it up', but 2 units of salamanders + toad + skink priest is almost the holy grail of everything you should not do with lizards. If you simply don't believe me I am happy to take use this list vs your standard skaven or khorne lists and show you just how unpleasant it can be on the table.

yeah, 2x2 sallies is nasty, but i am sticking with it, it gives me 4 times the chance to eat skinks, which i always have a good chuckle about. plus, now my sallies seem to role average, with one unit doing 10 hits, and the other about 4 (with a misfire) instead of misfire, misfire, 8 hits or some crap like that.

i was thinking about the list eariler, and i think i may just run the list i took to tsuga (with the minor changes i had) or something new i have come up with.... well sorta new (multiple units of cav???)

only reson i have the priest and chief in the is because i love the skink character models, and have some painted up (very good IMO but #### is others).]

strum: i wont be going to legends, didnt have the cash and have uni crap to do.

true, huanchi's banner is the bomb, that said, with a 14" charge, i should be able to charge something with out the banner, and yes, it wont likley be in the flank, but you get that on the big jobs, all i need to do is tie up the unit 'til the kroxigor get the (cav are safe from shooting once in combat [unless playing skaven]).

I honestly dont see the big deal, iv had no problems playing this list with any of my armies! maic is unreliable and a points sink, and shooting is the same.

@lewe - sure thing mate i'll play it anytime after all its just a game..

Luke, the magic and shooting in this list is about as reliable as you can get in the whole game.

Will take you up on that game against Shane's list when I get the chance (prepare for a lot of pain )

well, i still think the list i played at tsuga would still bit a bit better then the above one, but i though i would take a stroll down memory lane, and go back to the old days of skink caddys, old bloods and good ol' quetzl.

what do you think.... i still need to get a hold of 2 more cav. models, might be something i play a bit in the future, not really tournament spec. but you get that.

Nice list. I think the Okd blood with pirahna blade isn't that great. SUre he can duff over big things, but against little 'uns they can just refuse the challenge and he is beaten by combat res. And he will bounce off knights.

I like the new list, and to all the haters out there bagging on the 2x2 sallies, nuts to you all.

I played against shane tsugua list with the salies, and although they did alot of damage to me, I had equal opportunity to mess them up. I quite frankly would play against a list with the sallies then that list with a stegadon ANY DAY!

Im hoping to get to the tourny Shane, and you know whaqt that means mate, GRUDGE TIME!

Im running a little different list, so it shall be mighty interesting, I just hope and can get it all together in time to go.

Stick with the list mate, I would still comp u 3.

I dont particularly like the olblood set-up, but other than that the list is great, I personally like running 5 terradons were you have the 5 cav, but if you can pass stupidity the cav hit like a train! or at least a fairly large utility...

My current olblood looks like this:

Oldblood CoR @ 286
Blade Tzunki, ench. Shield, curse charm of Tepok, itzl, sotek, LA

But the curse charm may not be much use to you in that list... Im thinking of giveing him bane head and going after the enemy general!
For your list I would swap curse charm for old-ones.
